My first track with the GNX4. ThinLine-RufKut-01

G'day all....I've had the GNX4 for about month now and this is the first song I recorded after learning how to use the recorder. It's all done with the GNX4. I know it's really raw but it was done in one take. I'm working on a newer version now.

I really enjoy this forum because it's great to hear what everyone is playing. It's the original stuff that's the best cuz let's face it if you practice long enough you can do almost any cover. So keep up the good work guys, you rock! Anyway please let me know what ya'll think.....thanx.

sounded pretty good imo maybe the bass could have been up just a little but that is just my taste. I get the feel you was having fun :D I don't know what you were after if anything but it reminded me of a Haite Ashbury bowl party from the 60's 8) Good job! welcome to the gnx world of creation :D  8) hope to hear more from you!
  • Thanks Rawb,

Haite Ashbury bowl party? That's funny dude.

Yeah I laid the bass track afterwards so I need to play with the mix some more. But basically I just picked a drum track and went with the groove, so there are a lot of mistakes. I will be able to get things sounding better as I learn to mix, cuz I was using PTP and I read that it's not that good.

I'll be posting the next track I recorded later today. Thanx for the welcome. Seems like a cool place to be. :D
  • I dug the jam, you play good.
And you'll find that as you use the GNX, you get more comfortable and more familiar with the controls and what the thing is capable of. It's really an awesome machine, as you're already finding out.
And the more you learn about it, the more you can make it do. It's, like limitless, eh, dude? And have you looked at your fingers lately, man? Like, wow...

Deffinetly a cool little jam! Mixed pretty darn well! I liked the groove! & the guitar Tones was good!! You say you have a GNX4? What for patch & guitar did you use? Just wondering? Keep at it!! Keep posting as well! PTP is deffinetly usable BUT I soon upgraded to Sonar Producer 5 Mainly for plugin capabilties. Welcome! 8) :D
  • This was a pretty cool jam. It sounded like some sort of reverse effect with an octaver thrown in. Keep posting.
  • Cool...thanks for all the comments. Makes me want to do more :)
Partch.....it's one of the patches on the mfxsupermodels disc, I'm at work right now but I will let you know when I get home.

Shredd....actually it's been about 10 yrs since I really picked up my guitars. All my stuff was just sitting in the closet. I used to jam everyday but then I got married, had kids, and now divorced :D So now I'm starting to pick it up again. Then I started reading and hearing about all this new stuff out on the market, guitar modelers and new effects. So now it's like a whole new adventure with so many options. It used to be ya had your amp and a few stomp boxes and you worked your tone from that. Now it's unlimitless and actually easier, which also makes it a lot more exciting because you have so much to play with.

Anyway guys thanx for the replies it's greatly appreciated. I will be posting more original stuff real soon!
  • It's true...I think about the stuff I played with, and on, back in \"the day\", and it's a marvel what's happened since. So naturally, it renewed my interest in it, since I love to play with toys as much as I love to play my git'r.
And I didn't even get married or have kids, which is why I can afford things like a GNX.

Lookin' forward to hearing more of your stuff! Have fun!
  • Sounds like you threw it in reverse. Saweet. The bass guitar is a bit low, but not bad for one take. You are a splendid guitar player, love the feedback toward the end. Hope to hear more from you very soon.
  • Emesis, welcome to the forum! Cool jam, kind of did have a 60's trippy sound going on, but I liked it. Props on the chops.

    thanks for posting

    peace
  • Thanx Moxioron and Mike B for the welcome and the comments....cheers!
  • Emesis, WOW, I thought Jimi Hendrix was going to start singing at any point. Are you him re-incarnated? All kidding aside, I liked it alot. I as well like Bass--so a tad more on bass, other than that, Great Stuff.
  • Hendrix!! :o He's a friggin' God and I'm just a mere mortal  but thanx for the comment. Glad you enjoyed the little tune.
What's crazy is when I try to make a song, it doesn't come out the way I planned. But when I do just a straight jam like the two I posted, it comes out way better then intended, go figure
