I recently plugged in my guitar to record (of all times) and it sounds like theres Chorus on the guitar!?

I'm using:

Ibanez.gio
Laney head amp (Tf700 tube fusion)
Marshall 4x12 cabinet
GFX-8 effect proccessor
Metal zone MT-2 distortion

ive tried ways of isolating the issue but with no avail...help me please!
i dont use chorus and have checked this on my gfx

IS IT AN ISSUE WITH THE GUITAR?

  • So if you go guitar>Laney>cab all by itself, you still get a chorused sound?

Have you tried a different guitar?

Or is this only happening when you record, i.e., the recording sounds like a chorused sound?

If the gear sound good by itself, and it only gets bollocksed up when you try to record, it is probably a driver issue in the recording end of things. I seem to recall haivng some issues with that sort of this in Sonar. But, I've never heard of a chorus type of effect materializing from out of nowhere.
  • I'd be willing to bet that the chorus effect is engaged in your MFX unit somehow. Unless your amp has chorus built in and somehow that's showing up. But git'rs, amps, cabs, etc don't just create fx by themselves...keep lookin'...

PS can ya get me Elizabeth Hurley's new phone #??? I'm sure she misses me!!!
  • pull your electronics cavity cover off and make sure that you have good solid connections and nothing loose or grounded.Reason being that if a coil gets accidentally \"tapped\" it can do all kinds of crazy unpredictable stuff :(

I would plug the guitar up to a differant amp and start adding effects one by one also.

and get Liz Hurleys number for Shredd too  :P
