Lonley Od Soul

Did this one last night, I wanted to re-do the vocal track but there was snow removal equipment \"roaring\" all over the place....back-up beeps and loud diesel motors that gets picked up by the mic.

I wanted to try my hand at some African drums and congas so this song came out kind of strange. I used a Hammond B3 style for the small fills. I have to learn to use the slider thingys for the Leslie. It whirls and twirls around like a bad acid trip. ha-ha!!

  • Killer. Quit your day job already. 8) You get great sound out of whatever your setup is...you should post a pic in that \"studios - let's see 'em\" (http://www.guitarworkstation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5670) thread. 8)
  • I may be able to quit my job someday soon. I have a few nibbles in Nashville and my publishers are expanding. I have hundreds of originals, all different styles so I know I can make money....but can I make enough to quit a +10yr position at a Pharmacutical co.? hummmmm. maybe!!! lol

Here's a look down guitar alley, you can see the centerpiece, my GNX3000 which I use for all guitars, bass and 90% of the drums.

I can relate. I have a job that's so sweet I can't bear to leave it, despite the glaring shortcomings - including the wretched boss's wife that I've continuously griped about. :?
Guitars? Shoot, my boos's wife won't even let me have a dog (I live in a house that they own... ). And I'm not even married to her.
By the way - how did you manage a room that's JUST for music gear? Yum!

PS: you should post those links in the thread I mentioned above...I'm sure the guyz here'd love to see that stuff!!!

Yes sir, That was another fine example of why I should find another hobby. Hope you can set the hook in some of them nibbles!
  • Wow cool tune Buzzhaze!! This has to be my favorite so far!All your stuff is very well done Proffesional!! Loved the guitar Tones in this one! & Yes you can still play those congas eh? :D & hey what can be said about your vocals you just have a good singing voice & use it well! 8)

On another note Very nice equipment!! Seems like you have a nice cozy space there man. I will have a home studio soon at our new house. We should be able to move in Late May early June. I'm excited to have my own space comming!
  • thanks!! There's no describing how nice it is to have the equipment handy when you're in the mood, you can just do it. I do most of my recording after midnight since the traffic noise can be heard in the day. I still want to re-do the vocals and maybe add a little more strat sound to the verses. I might lay back on the Hammond until I learn how to use the leslie better.

The only downside ito owning the gear is I work alone. I'm not used to that. I have been in bands for years, playing with others. The upside is, there's no one telling me that my material is weak or that I shouldn't do this or that. I am less afraid to take chances or try out new things.

This board has been very helpful in letting me debut songs that I am unsure of...styles I am not accustom to...

thanks to all of you for the feedback and support. It's important to me and I really appreciate it. I have soooo much material to debut.
