Pink Floyd Sound - Shine on you Crazy Diamond

I am new to the Digitech 3000 and still exploring the miriad of sounds. I haven't found any Shine on You Crazy Diamond type lead guitar sounds and wonder if anyone can suggest the nearest preset and any tweaks to the effects that might achieve this? I know downloadable patches exist, but would prefer to first explore the parameters of the 3000 and try and get to grips with the basics of sound control and creation.

As I say, I am hindered by a lack of experience and probably a poor ear in spotting the right sound so any help would be appreciated. I also have a fear of downloading patches onto the 3000 and wiping the whole thing clean or importing a virus or something. Is that possible?

You can't ever overwrite factory presets so there is no worry there. As for the downloadable presets, I'd recommend using them, then open them in XEdit and look at the parameter settings to see what was used to acheive that sound, it's a good starting point
