anyone play in a choir? Nashville area?
Syncopated rhythms, altered chords, and difficult? I'm having the time of my life playing in the church choir. I'd really like to hear or communicate with some other players in the same situation to see how they handle themselves. I would love to hear some soulful gospel choirs if anyone knows of any in the area.

However our previous worship leader would delve into the more soulful side of the music spectrum. That was fun, we did one called \"Deep, Way Down Deep\", I think the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir made it popular. It was pretty much straight up gospel blues in E the way we did it. I managed to trade off blues licks with the keyboard player, like I said fun stuff. I wish we could do some more arrangements like that.
take care, welcome to the forum

But it is a blast!
I wish I could find some choirs in the Nashville area that do this type of thing regularly so I could go watch the guitarist. There are ALOT of churches in this area.
i believe that churches out number schools 20 to 1  they don't call it the bible belt for nothing.Congregations can be a tough crowd when ya grew up Catholic and learned how to play guitar from Black Sabbath
