Sometimes it's just nice to get down to only the essential gear requirements. Do you really need all those finger paints?
1) Alternate tunings - no need to retune the guitar, just select the patch.
2) Multiple modeling paths in 1 preset. Ex: Path A can be a Les Paul into Marshall, path B a strat into a Fender twin. Both sounds get played at once, you can pan them hard left and hard right, etc.
3) Built-in emulation of the old Roland GR300 synth, enabling access to those Robert Fripp-like tones.
I still think the GNX4, with the Supermodels, gives the most realistic modeling, but I do like the way the Roland COSM tones record. Weird. Live I definitely prefer the tones of the GNX4, but when I go to lay done something into the 1s and 0s, I end up liking the results from the Roland.
My wife teaches Special Education. At times they come in handy.
I bet they come in handy for those 'special' times at home with the wife.
