Falling Apart

Fresh out of the home studio. This time I brought in a drummer. I hate playing to a drum machine unless I have to.

Hope you like it. I spent a little more time with the vocals and mixdown this time....well at least more than the last one ha-ha!!

  • Dude no file? I get directed to a site? I try to find your song to no avail? Try uploading to the sound community? Your link just takes me to some gaming site?
  • Hey I was able to get this song after listening to your other post. 8) Man I am glad I was able to!! This song was cool! The real drums did make a difference! The mix is MUCH better! I can hear your voice, the words much better than the dessert song! Your a good singer man!! This is good stuff! How long ya been playing & doing music? Anyhow keep em comming! I'll be looking for more! 8) :D
  • Im not sure why the link was messed up but I edited it so it works now. Thanks for pointing that out.

...and thanks for the kind words. I have been playing a long time but only started getting serious about singing fronts 3 years ago. I used to do a lot of backup vocals but never felt confident to do more. I guess the same thing goes for my writing, I used to hate all my stuff....now it's a little better so I'm willing to take a chance with it. I think age helps writing become more meaningful...or is it I just have more time and money now!! ha-ha!!
  • Great song. Very moody and dark. You have a great voice. Reminds me of Queenrhyce. A very good mix as well. What did you use for drums? They sound great.
  • Thanks. The song seems a little depressing but actually, Im a very happy person. lol...just wanted to clear that up :)

I used 4 mics on a very cheap ludwig kit. 1 kick, 1 snare & hat (hats were buried) and 2 \"over-the-toms\" overheads. They sounded pretty bad at first but they grew on me. I just wish there were more crispness to the cymbals and especially the hi hats...oh well, live and learn. Next time I will hang another mic on the hats.

Everything else is running through my GNX, I use an acoustic with a customized \"acoustic\" setting on the GNX...lol Kind of tinny but I like the chorus.

I've re-mixed both songs with more vocals. Everyone kept saying they were too low. I rounded out the slide sound in the desert song and I think it's better.

    Both can be found here:

Again, thanks for taking the time to listen and reply. I need as much help as I can get!! ha-ha!!!
  • COnsider posting them on the DT Sound Community site?
  • I liked this post with all the clean guitar work.
I kept waiting for a burning lead to come in somewhere.
    Maybe next time.
  • Man I realy like your sound BuzzHaze! Much better mix on the Dessert Song! How are you doing the Harmonys? GNX4 IPS? Just wondering they sounded real good! Keep posting! 8) :D
  • Shredd, I thought this was the DT sound community. Can you post a link to the site youre talking about...thanks

thatsastrat, I know what you mean but the clean sound just worked better for the song. I will put a ripper up soon. I play a lot of hendrix-type material.

partch, thanks bro. I did the vocals directly into the board. One main line and 2 harmony lines. Its nice and easy to sing with yourself lol
(Im using a Neumann TLM103 condenser mic into a Yamaha AW2400)

The one I'm working on right now is another acoustic & piano piece. I'll have it up soon.

Yes you have come to the right place. Shred was talking about uploading your MP3 to the Digitech websight ( www.digitech.com under sound community and under GNX 3,4,3000 etc. Its easier to get the link to work for most people thats all.
