The Mesa-900 patch by phatsack!

I finally have a patch to contribute that I think is worthy! (( THIS IS FOR THE GNX3000 ))

This is the Mesa-900 patch. A cross between the Dual Rec and the JCM900.

Basically I liked the JCM900 for the way the mids cut through the mix, but the gain structure is just...not gainy enough. So I boosted the mids and crossed it with the dual rectifier (scooped the mids on this) to add gain and have that mesa tone. 8)

while making it I goofed and made the green channel the lead channel instead of the red, but that's minor.

The expression pedal controls gain on the lead channel, and the stompbox is a screamer with the volume turned up and the gain turned down for a lead boost.

I use this patch the most live and route my GNX3K through my 1x12 Fender deluxe 900's poweramp in jack, and I put the XLR outs to the PA system.

Sounds like you and I have similar preferences. I also love the mids to cut through, but sometimes I need to get my point across w/ the Mesa sound (i.e. rip people's faces off). However, I have a GNX4. Has anyone made a 3000-GNX4 software package similar to the gnx3 fixer which lets us use GNX3 patches?? Thanx in advance.

wow, that's WAY too much gain

yep, I realized that after I changed pickups in my guitar. I had low output ones before, but now that I've got a Duncan JB the gain is a little too much. So I just turned it down.

what pickups were you using?

I had some stock Ibanez Ah1/2 pickups, which are supposedly pretty hot. But I wax potted them and over did it a little - got a LOT of wax left on them, and they lost some of their \"sizzle\" They sounded alright, but the Duncan JB sounds a LOT better.
