  • WHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

    That's fake right?

I've seen some expensive guitars but jeez this is just overkill.

Thas' whut I'm talkin' about. I realize git'r collecting has gotten big...I saw a mint '54 Goldtop go for $48,000 once. But this is beyond unreasonable...it's absurd. Gimme a break.
  • I could buy 3 BMW's for that price, several V8 holdens, 20 small hatch-backs... I could alternatvely buy an apartment, or comission an asian forger to produce an exact replica...
  • For that amount of $ I could buy a (small-ish) house.
I could buy 100 Les Pauls.
I could invest it and retire a millionaire.
I could hire Van Halen to play my birthday party (although I'd probably get RUSH 8) ).
I could take Anne Hathaway, Cameron Diaz, Elizabeth Hurley, and Kate Hudson ALL to Hawaii for a hot tub party. :D

What kind of money do you have to have for this to be something you'd want to buy? This isn't even a git'r you'd play!
  • Hey I'm an original 54 \"baldtop\" and im not even worth that dead. If only I had saved all the guitars that passed thru my hands I could be a bloody gazzilionaire.
  • I dunno if I'd buy something like that from someone who's never sold anything on eBay. Even if I had the money and wanted it.

TELL me about it. I thrash myself every time I think about it: Gibson ES335 x 2, ES345 stereo, ES355 stereo, '72 strat; ALL in MINT condition...I can't go on...:cry:

Well...you gotta figure that anyone who'd spend that kinda cake for a git'r is:
#1 a serious collector who'd know the difference
    #2 got someone who'd do a SERIOUS inspection/verification
#3 go to pick up the git'r in his Lear jet
#4 probably have the seller \"put to sleep\" and take his money back

Yeah, it does sound like one of those setups where you'd have the buyer land in the seller's backyard in a helicopter, break out a leather case full of money, and have five men with machine guns for backup.
  • i just don't get it.......and i don't believe i want to :wink::lol:

the sad part is that there are boneheads out there with \"new\" money and little sense that will buy it thinking what the seller says is true only to hang it in his new 1000sqft livingroom so it will impress his friends  :x

My employers' living room is TWO thousand square feet, with 26 foot ceilings...and even he's way too smart to spend that kinda money on something. This git'r is for idiots who think they're getting the only one like it in the world.
  • And it's an explorer...
