Anywhere to Demo GNX4 & Amp Questions

Can anyone recommend where I can (demo) try out a GNX4, just to get a feel for what it will do?? Is my assumption correct that at the basic level, it will replace about any need for additional FX pedals??

Also, my reading of all of the (great) posts in the various forums gives me the distinct impression that the GNX4 works best with a PA system. I have a Marshall DSL401 and a Fender Acoustasonic Jr. Will the GNX4 work with either of these????

Thanks

  • There's a Guitar Center in Florence, KY. My Guitar Center carries the GNX4, so I assume that one does, too. The one here in San Antonio has a large pedal demo area.

As to amps, the Acoutisonic should work pretty well. I didn't look up the sepaker specs on it, but most acoustic amps have a speaker that it fairly full range, and that is what you are looking for.

And, yes, it should be able to replace just about any of your pedals, unless you have some very unique items. I haven't used a separate pedal with an electric rig in quite a while.

Good luck and welcome to our forum!
  • There's a Guitar Center in Florence, right off of Houston Rd. They don't have a floor demo, but they said they'd be willing to set one up for you - they have them in stock.

As far as connections, yes PA is the best, but your acoustic amp should work well too. My friend has a Marshall similar to yours in size and features, and has gotten good results going into the FX loop. However, monitor speakers, home stereo, or PA speakers would all be preferred options.
