If Patience Was Pain

I did this using a great backing track done by blackstrat. He did the drums, the piano, and the killer Strat riffs.
I piled on some Roland Juno-60 tones, git'r \"solos\" :roll: on my Ibanez, some bass riffs from my Peavey Grind, and vocals thru my new Behringer dynamic mic.
All was done through the GNX4, onto my Tascam 2488.
I just got in the mood, and put it all together in a coupla afternoons. Brace yourself, it's 6 minutes. :shock:
PROPS: to blackstrat for recording - and sharing - a killer backing track, and to kbauer1 for his endless posting of awesome \"mood\"/\"movie soundtrack\" music, that I've really taken a liking to.

  • Hey shredd!! WAY TO GO!!

    Fabulous stuff!! I love the bass effect and the way it (the bass) drives the whole track!! And the vocals on the way out! Those layered vocals really have added a whole new feel to the track! 10 out of 10!!

    Cheers Bro! :lol::lol::lol:

    Far out shredd ! Those vocals are haunting psychadelia at it's best !! and very catchy!
  • I agree 100% great job man!! You took a already killer well done backing & bam you brought it up a notch or 2 8) Very nice full interesting thru the whole song. it realy did go from being a backing Idea jam type thing to a song!! Again just great overall vision for that & how you built it all together to acheive that!! Props to ya I like all your stuff Shredd BUT this has to be one of the better overall complete originals!! I know you do alot of covers but this was great!! & Good Idea Black Strat to even do this project 8) I'm excited to here some others takes!! 8) :D

    Thanks 'slash- the haunting vocals are part of the theme I was going for; they also serve to disguise my feeble singing voice. :oops:

    Excellent work Blackstrat and Shredd.

    If patience was pain...this one hit home for me
    and you captured the emotions with so many layers. 8)
  • Nice. I like the air effect in the beginning with the escalating bass guitar. The keyboards is a nice added touch. So is the cool electric flangey guitar that comes in and out (reverse effect?). The vocals at the end add a lot of emotion to your song. Drums a bit monotonous, but the song overall is very nice.

    Not as nice as a walk on the beach with Anne Hathaway though :lol: ...couldn't resist.

    Agreed...what's she wearing??? :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:

    PS drums were a loop (duh), and the flanged git'r is actually my Peavey bass, run through a triggered flanger; I put it forward and moved it back in the mix as I wanted...blackstrat did the pretty piano parts, I did the synth tones...
