COSM questions

i have a pair of roland DS-90 monitors, with COSM. but i have no mixer or other device with COSM to drive them. can anyone suggest a small/low budget COSM driver? a small mixer, or something i can use to access the COSM.

it also has to have support for digital in /out, as that's all i use. right now im using them with a yamaha AW4416, and they sounds great, but i am missing a lot of the functionality they have since i can't use the COSM.

thanks

  • You would need to find a Roland or Edirol mixer that supports the feature. It looks like the most reasonable one is a used Roland VM3100 Pro. I saw one for $229.

If you go that route, let us know how it works out. To me, it seems kind of strange to have modeling monitors, but I generally like Roland gear, so maybe it isn't too bad of an idea.
  • 2 bills eh... ouch. i'll keep my eye on cl and see if i can find a cheap used one. i love the monitors otherwise, even though they generally get bad reviews.
  • I've got a vm3100, that I'd be willing to part with for $175 shipped. Let me know if you'd be interested. I was using it as a small submixer for drums, but no longer need it, now that I've upgraded to a 32 channel board. Still works great, not a thing wrong with it.
