GNX as effects only (hendrix pedal as my front end)

WOW!!!

I have been using the Hendrix pedal for around 6 or 8 months now and although I was planning on selling it to help pay for my new GNX3000 I have decided that it is a MUST have for me. So I simply had to figure out what else was NOT a must have, and am selling them in its place.

Although I had owned the GNX4 twice in the past I had NEVER used it in either stomp box mode or as an FX only unit (turning off all amp and cabinet sims). I simply found a few presets that I liked, tweeked them, and saved 3 or 4 of them to pedals 1-4. And that's about it.

BUT after playing with my setup these past few days I have truly found both the tone and flexability that I have been looking for with the combo of the Hendrix pedal, and all of it's built in amp and cabinets sims, and the GNX3000 in stomp box mode, with all of the amp and cabinets turned off.

Then I setup the FX that I like in 2 versions: One with the expression pedal as a wah, another with the expression pedal as a whammy, and the talk box setup.

And last but not least, I also am able to completely by-pass the Hendrix pedal when I use one of my presets that works for say a Heavier tone, and run everything completely from the tones in the GNX3000.

Most of my tone is say SRV and/or Hendrix, so the Hendrix pedal suites me really well, with the GNX3000 suplementing that, but to then also be able to get something completely different from the GNX3000 so easily is simply incredible.

The stomp box mode has simply become my favorite little feature along with some of the other features that were soooo crutial to me coming back to the GNX family (i.e.: sound card capabilities, multiple inputs for solo typy of gigs with mics and iPod or stereo inputs, etc.).

Assuming that anyone here is interested in getting that Hendrix and/or SRV tone, but still loves the flexability of their GNX, I can't stess enough how happy I am with this setup.
