Awsome ODB!! Looking forward to hearing all this new stuff 8)
  • Cool, I hear that pedal is great.

I got a EVJ Head and a Damage Control Solid Metal on the way :D
  • I'm using a bad monkey in front of my JCM800, great pedal.......oh, and a VL2 by the way. Bad monkey enhances tone, doesn't detract at all.

I agree thats why I like it so much...its very transparent from tube to amp Modeler.

    Riddle me this???
Why doesnt Digitech have this model in any of there MFX units? They have MXR for cryin out loud and they give you the Whammy with the GNX3000. this is one product that really happens to really shine for the money IMHO.
Its a keeper. so they should include it in the GNX4s or 3000s next gen maybe.
  • I don't want to humiliate you metalheads by pointing out the obvious, but if the B/Mondkey is such a popular pedal, why in all of creation would they build it into a $400 MFX when they can sell it to you seperately for $100 or whatever it costs???
  • I think the answer is because the Bad Monkey is an analog pedal, it wouldn't sound the same as a digital version of itself....inside a digital modeler....IMHO
  • See - I don't even NEED any help to humiliate myself!!!
  • If they can successfully model a smörgåsbord of analogue amps and pedals, why should adding another one pose a challenge?

    8) +1 on the hootman there ...they magically recreated all this other stuff!!
Common break out the pixie dust and create this one too LOL!

oh ya and while your at it create a digital girl patch for shredd in there too!
That would be a british model right?

If I were consulted during the design phase, it would probably be a patch based on a hyrid Bridget Fonda/Elizabeth Hurley/Diane Lane/Catherine Z-Jones model, with parameters for adjusting accent, eye and/or hair color, suntan, and warp between how much time I spend with her v my git'r. 8)
  • I also noticed there is a guy on Ebay selling modified bad monkeys for twice the price.he calls them, \"Badder Monkeys\"..says you get \"more low end and more original guitar tone\".hmmmmmmmm, questionable, as it already puts out plenty
  • Bladder Monkey?!?
To me - a ten-year eBay veteran - it sounds to me like a guy trying to make money off of guys who can't resist trying every last thing or who's always searching for some kind of tone/sound he hadn't heard before. Thing is, it ain't like MF or whatever, where you can return it if it sux.
It's like I always say - \"it doesn't matter how distasteful, illicit, corrupt, or illegal it is - if there's money in it SOMEone's gonna do it\"... :?

On the other hand, it might just be a bad-a$$ pedal that's actually worth the extra bux. Check it out, ODB!!!
  • I use a bad monkey infront of my Fender Princeton Chorus amp which is a solid state amp and it does a nice job in warming up the tone for me.

I have thrown it in front of my GNX3K before but really don't hear much of a difference using it vs. one of the stompoxes built in already... But for $49.99 it's a great pedal IMO.

 these days I am downsizing. Less is more. I don't own alot of modeling stuff at once anymore Its takes alot of research wich is expensive and gets very time consuming if you want to actually try it out at home,

I have settled (this year LOL!) on a more simple approach.
I have started useing 1 bank of quality sounds. I found I can get by with 4 or 5 main sounds and if tweeking is nessesarry I do it with my tone controls on the guitar rather than switching to a bunch of diffrent amps all the time. I think volume levels gain stages etc for me are better this way and it keeps the flow of my jams better IMHO.

 there can be only one :!:

 One AMP to rule them all, (Flex3)
One midi board to find them, (FVB shortboard)
One stompbox to bring them all (Bad Monkey)
and with the vocals bind them!!! (VL-2)
