Its been awhile since I have posted in here...been bizzy...

Here is a snipit of what I have attempted to write...I've been told its Jazz Rock Fusion....I'm not all that happy with the synth in the mid end...but its all I could find for now...would like a Rush synth sound...so I'll keep looking...till then here is what I got at this time...

Yeah Dad long time no post Hey it was whorth the wait. This is cool I liked it alot!! Each time I listened I liked it better. I think the Bass Line is cool & honing in on that helped me to realy feel the groove & Rythem of the song. I think that middle part you talked of sounded fine to me! It had a Rush feel to it there 8) That End solo well where you cut the song at that obviously isint the end? That solo is setting up to be real cool like the Tone & scale your using there has a nice feel to it 8) Good to hear something new from you!!

Wow! Another great post…Its good to hear from you again…This definitely sounds like a Rush influence with a touch of Satriani…love the tone on the leads…base line sounds great…I think with another transition this will sound great!

Ya..The drummer on this tune Loves Neil Pert...I'm working on a transition for this...getting close...now that I have found a real bass player..my bass parts on this will be updated...:)

On the subject of what to look for on \"Rush\" keyboard sounds....
Over the years, Lee's keyboards have featured synthesizers from Oberheim (Eight-voice, OB-1, OB-X, OB-Xa), PPG (Wave 2.2 and 2.3), Roland (Jupiter 8, D-50, XV-5080), Moog (Minimoog, Taurus bass pedals), and Yamaha (DX7). Lee used sequencers early in their development and has continued to use similar innovations as they have developed over the years. Lee has also made use of digital samplers. Combined, these electronic devices have supplied many memorable keyboard sounds, such as the \"growl\" in \"Tom Sawyer\" and the syncopated melody featured in the chorus of \"The Spirit of Radio\".

I found my XV-5080 to be the closest to duplicating their sounds.

I have been looking into synth plugins and the FM8 or FM7 looks pretty good...Have you messed with these?
