Sustain Issue with GNX4

Has anyone else had an issue with lack of sustain using the GNX4? It seems that notes and chords cut off quickly instead of gradually diminish with my unit. It's not my guitar as it has great sustain when run directly through the amp. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated as to how to overcome this issue

try reducing the noise gate. compression can also be added if you want, but start with the gate.
