Tested another guitar
Last Saturday at a guitar center in Dallas. It was a Gretsch Electromatic G5120. Comes with two humbuckers, made in Korea, played it through a little 15 watt Marshall MFX amp with DSP.
This one was the Burnt Orange color, what better color if you are in Texas. Anyway this guitar was pretty dad gum nice. Loved the sound even through the little Marshall. Just lifted it off the wall and plugged in, action was about where I like it. It has some type of Bigsby tremelo bar that works well for what I like. Certainly handles rock-a-billy well, and old classic country sounds nice as well.
This guitar has definitley made my short list.

..stinkin' Longhorns... :P
As far as blue and white with a lion, :? Just think of the Wizard of Oz
Manitou you crack me up.

I picked up one of those Epiphone Colleigate UT guitars when Musicians Friend was closing them out. Now there is TEXAS guitar.
I would think you could pick up a Pick guard from them pretty reasonably
My \"short\" list is pretty long.
Drowned a golf ball today with my nephwew and daughter.
Today is my mom's 75th birthday so we are celebrating

I was in the bustling metropolis of Colorado Springs on a sort of biz-nis trip, and took an afternoon to go to some git'r shops, since there aren't any within a few hundred miles of where I live :? .
Played a New Fender VG strat. Pretty dam kewl! But it was $1700 bux, a little steep for a strat, even a nice one.
Played an Ibanez Artcore (ThinLine copy); great deal, but unimpressive git'r. Plays very \"stiffly\", and incredibly unimpressive tone. Then again, I once owned an ES345 and an ES355.
Played a Godin. Meh. Good deal, but very average git'r.
Played the Peavey version of PRS's Santana. REAL nice; ebony fingerboard, best of everything, played like a dream, sounded awesome. $2000 price tag.
Actually, the axe I liked best was a Peavey Grind 4-string bass. Great deal, neck-thru, great pups, nice smooth acton. Dug it. If I played bass really well I'd have snatched it, but I figure I better learn to play my git'r first.
And, by the way, as I'm sure you're all eager to know - the chix in C/Springs don't hold a candle to those fine Texas chix. They just cost you less.
Just the opposite here... I've been stuck in Texas for the last month and a half in training, but I should be done by next week.
