The \"GNX's cannot sync\" fiasco...
I refuse to accept that you can't sync these things to other devices. It is, quite frankly, ridiculous. This is a massively powerful tool, but if Digitech think it will do everything that anybody needs then I don't think they're thinking things through very well. To be able to sync a sequencer, or a DAW with the GNX series would be fantastic...
EDIT: I want to make clear here I want to use the GNX and make it play along and in time with other things outside the GNX. I don't have a problem with things within the GNX being out of time, but it has no ability to make the drum machine, for example, stay in time with it.
...so I'm here for two things.
(1) I'm thinking I MIGHT be able to work around the lack of syn using something like this:
http://www.jlcooper.com/pages/pps2.html
This box will generate an audio track which can be converted to Midi clock or Midi Time Code. The issue is likely to be however that there would be a delay before a tight sync could be established, hence it would take a few seconds to get its act together. Or:
(2) Find out how much support there is out there for a sync function on these boxes. I would LOVE it, and while I'm sure I'm not in the majority, I would have thought that say 10% of users at least would find it very useful (and I'm sure there are other features which cater to less than 10% of the user base).
Please let me know if you have any thoughts on this.
Cheers,
Kim.

I did vote Yes.
Nothing within the unit, but that's the point...
I'm trying to get the drum machine and recorder in the GNX 4 to play along with, in this case, an external sequencer. But if it had a sync ability you could make it sync with, say, a computer, or another drum machine, or whatever you like.
The GNX works just fine if you use it on its own, but surely it would be handy to have the option to hook it up with other gear as well, just in case you wish to. I play keys as well, and even if you don't, surely you know somebody who does...?
Cheers,
Kim.
I have ADL2 just for the MIDI capabilities. I wish GNX did that. I do like the RLD amp models - did some samples a while back http://www.44lbs.net/ilia/RLD/ and for those of you who don't like the sound of my voice, I did no commentary, it's just my lousy playing.
I actually really have no clue what your taking about but anything can be done in life. And syncing 2 electronic devices can't? POSH!
