Is there some kind of reflective material on the pedal that moves over the sensor when using the pedal portion of the RP200. Mine is not working at all and there is nothing on the round portion of the pedal above the sensor? I'm thinking that maybe something fell off.

Nothing goes on the round portion, try recalibrating the pedal as described in the owners manual.
