Your all-time favorite \"SOLOLESS\" guitarist
I've been thinking of a lot of different guitarist lately due to the \"favorite solo\" thread, and one that popped into my head is Lindsey Buckingham. But I couldn't think of a single solo that made my jaw drop. Yet I love so much of his music. His brilliance must be acknowledged somehow and I figure there must be others out there as well so here's the place to stick em!
How about best guitarist whose name you never knew. Like the guy from Golden Earring. The whole first side of the album \"Moontan\" was great. And the solo from the FULL version of \"The Twilight Zone\" is sooo tasty. Yet I never knew his name and I spent quite some time with Moontan working out Candy etc...
If anyone says Alex Lifeson for either of these two categories, I will come to their house and kill them... Go ahead, try me  :P

One of my biggest influences of all time is Tony T.S. McPhee of the Groundhogs. The Hogs were Muddy Waters, and John Lee Hooker's backup band when they toured England in the 60's. Tony is sort of a cross between Hendrix's progressive vision, and Johnny Winter's raw ness. Worked the studios along with Beck, Clapton, and Page. The Hogs have a slew of great recordings that are worth the time to listen to.

How about Big Love from The Dance. If that doesn't knock your socks off, I don't know what will.
sololess guitarist???? hmmm - I'm thinking someone who is a great primarily rhythm player. My pick - Bob Weir.
How about every single song of his on rumours is a solo.
A guy I like that jams out is the guy that does the solos on \"God Rock-n-Roll Machine\". Don't know who he is but the dude jams out.
Freddie Green..

Count Basies' guitarist for about 40 years...
The title to the web site says it all...
Freddie Green-Master of the Rhythm Guitar. 8)
As far as solo-less guitarists, I have to give Wes of Puddle of Mudd a mention. I find his songs well written and amazingly simple. A perfect blend that brings out the best in a song.
glenn tipton
Izzy from GNR was pretty slick
Crosby from RATT
