Subject: Codec
Sorry for messaging you. [snip snip] Does it need a codec or what? [link removed]
Update for those not following the other thread: the PM functionality has been disabled. This should eliminate the PM notification problem. Functionality will be restored once a suitable workaround is found (hopefully this will happen). If you receive any additional notifications for PMs, please let us know. You can find contact e-mail for me, 0db, and admin in forum member list or at the bottom of one of our posts.
One of the users has suggested that this can possibly occur when a notification is sent and the post initiating this action is deleted before you login to read it. Connie (forum admin) believes this is the work of spammers - this is the most likely scenario, as we've seen a bit of an influx of these and they've learned about private messages.
It has also been suggested that the forum software be upgraded. Right now, Digitech does not have the resources time-wise to do so, but this will most likely happen to fix some other issues as well. Until then, the PM spam has been rendered impossible. I know it's an inconvenience, but it's the best we can do.
The board has now been updated to the latest release and Private Messaging has been re-enabled. Let me or Iliace known if you have any problems with this functionality.
