Patch Converter: GNX3/4/3000 - to - RP350/250?

Patch Converter for converting patches to RP350 / RP250 form GNX3/4/3000? Is there or will there be one? I own a GNX4 and since I can use a cheap MP3 player in conjunction with the RP350, I could leave my (overkill for live use for me anyway) GNX4 at home if I could port my GNX4 patches over to an RP350. Any thoughts or advice, anybody?

  • GNX4 -> RPn50 unlikely, for the same reason GNX4 -> GNX3000 is unlikely. It's a different modeling algorithm that involves more stages than the older one, thus making it physically impossible to have a one-for-one duplicate. Some people have experimented with converter programs, but I have not seen a viable one yet.
  • Re GNX4 to GNX 3000 convertor,

My programmers inform that it is possible to make a convertor from GNX4 to GNX3000 with a fairly high tonal accuracy just by substituting the closest Amplifier model.

Digitech and some other magazines regularly post patches for same artist /same song on different Digitech MFX boxes. All they do is use standard builtin Amps and use the closest one on each of the MFX units.

It is also technically possible to transfer 95% of the GNX4 custom Amplifier information to the GNX3000 and make educated guesses for the missing 5% of information that the GNX3000 has over the GNX4.

Please note that very prestigious magazines post patches without mentioning if they are for the Neck or Bridge pup or for SC/HB pups. I am told that it is surely possible to write a GNX4-GNX3000 convertor with much higher accuracy than the difference in sound between a neck/ bridge and SC/HB pups !!!

    Enjoy !!
