  • I thought it was pretty cool 8) I heard he was doing a Hit's type CD with everything done Blugrass Style & he would be doing the Vocals to his greatest hits :D Well here is one of them, cool post 8)

    P.S.
That Solo Section Actually wasn't bad :D But man I just Kept hearing Eddie in that part man I love that Original Solo 8)
  • That's just, I dunno, sad?

    Retire with dignity Dave.

    Oops....too late.
  • Saw this many months ago..
I was struck with his willingness to experiment with new music..Never been much of a Roth fan, but the players who were backing him were awesome..They looked like hungry dogs on a leash, just waiting for him to stop singing so they could cut loose...

Good blue grass players can grassersize anything...
  • There should be a law....

Rod Stewart thinks he's still young. :? (I dunno what mirror he is using)
    Mick Jagger...creepy.

17 YR OLD SWEDISH MODEL REFUSES MICK JAGGER

It looks like Mick Jagger, 59, won't get no satisfaction from young Swedish
model Caroline Winberg, who's all of 17.
The Nordic knockout says the wrinkly rocker has been phoning
her regularly and begging her for a date ever since he spotted
her at a Paris fashion show last summer.
\"He is as old as my grandfather,\"
the blonde stunner said in a recent Swedish TV documentary, according to London's Sun.
    Ohhhh SNAP !!
    Well....once Dave becomes an abcd..EMT 56.gif
...he can bring Mick the WAAAAAAAAbulance... :?
  • I like Roth in the Halen Days as well as some of his solo stuff a why he cant chill with dignity untill he gets another Halen tour(and he will) I dunno. Its not like he's hurtin for cash...he and sammy will do a double tour with Eddie (if he will quit drinkin his talent away) I think he has flashes of brilliance in his songwriting at times...but he needs to get over himself a bit. and quit dragging these poor bluegrass guys along in his madness of the month. they got paid well though I bet...I can hearem now ...\"comon guys its a gig itll all be over soon ...
  • See what happens after the induction ceremonies. maybe they'll take a ride over the C Town to see their museum exhibition! Ceremony in NYC and Museum in C Town... still bugs me!!
  • I think Roth already finished his gig as an EMT. This was before he bombed as Howard Stern's replacement on radio. Man that was hard to listen to.

Yes it was... but not as hard as the MORONS they replaced Roth with. Fortunately, I found a cure for the virus :P

:? Maybe he was let go....because they got tired of all the 60 year old groupies calling for Rescue siex?
  • Geez, I have to see this again. Guy's, this is the Leno spot about 6-7 months ago (may be longer). Horrifying! Absolutely just murders Jump.
  • Wow!

Haven't seen that in a while.

I actually was at a guitar clinic with the guy playing guitar in that clip.
The guy's name is Brad Davis and I highly recommend you check him out.
Anyways he told some stories about recording and playing with Roth and said that he was very cool and that apparently Roth just wanted to have fun with those songs and do them in a diffrent style.

Didn't knoow Roth was a bluegrass fan

    that banjo solo rocks!!!

Now that's what I'm talking about!! Everybody seems sooooo negative about this I mean why because it's not Metal or done like the Original. Like soo what you can never do some song in other styles man that's what's cool about music Sky is the Limit I'm kind of suprised everybody was so negative & narrow minded in this!! I think it was cool & like many said the musicians that played this were awsome just because they did not use distortion did not make them any less players than Eddie!! enough said on my rant I just think you show respect to musicians & there ideas etc.. you don't cut them up because it don't fit your mold.
  • Point and Counter-point....:P

There should be a law.
If I did this...I'd be banned off this site...and furthermore
I would have been taken out to the parking lot and beaten
with a banjo. I'd also make squeaking sounds, until I can
afford to have the fiddle surgically removed from my butt. :?

All the greats play their songs slightly different over the course
of time...and sometimes even improving on the original.
But when you go this far....there should be a law.

My generation is displeased. Shame on you Dave....
we made you....and we can turn our backs on you as well.
Think of our children! How do we explain this...after they
    learn about Santa? :x

There are enough banjo or accordian players....too many. tsk tsk.
...and you are really not helping them either.
    ...shame...shame... :?

well we just have to agree to disagree :D I personnally don't see it like that at all? If he wanted to do POP style or Country whatever he is the Artist he has the perogitive to do what he wants. I mean hey I loved the Original as well!! It just don't bother me seeing this song done Blugrass style or any other style as far as that goes. Now do I think it is as good as the Original? NOOOOOOO :!: But hey maybe Roth does who realy cares he still has the right to do it if he wants
  • ...I see Partch head bangin in his living room to \"Runnin With the Devil\"...

Long time no see Cobalts :D Hows it going?
  • I'm trying to stay with the spirit of this thread title, and be as objective as possible. I watched the video again, and tried to pretend that I am not aware of the fact that DLR was one of the coolest cats to ever grace the rock scene. I tried to pretend that I had never seen him before. As much as I like blue grass, and the band in this video is extremely talented, I can't get past the fact that Roth looks goofy in this. The school boy smile has to go - sorry. I do think there was something VERY harmful in the \"water\" he and EVH were drinking in the 80's, because this confirms that they have both LOST THEIR MINDS!!!!

Partch, please don't be mad at me
  • Rob,
I understand were you & all the others were comming from :D No problem bro. I'm just saying for me hey if that floats Roths boat so be it. I must say it was a little wierd to watch  I more less listened not watched  Well that Banjo Solo you no how it is that my friend I watched 8) But I still kind of heard Eddy comming thru, no what I mean? I do think the Original smoked this don't get me wrong & what I was saying in this thread in the first place

The fall of iconic legends and idols of days gone by is never a pretty site, nor is it something those who lived during the legends glory days want to see. We weep for \"the Dave we knew back then\", and for the children of today who will see what he's become, and never know the greatness of his former glory.

Dave, here's to what you once were, but will never be again.

    /Salute!
