Aberraeshun - Dance

Hey all, I just put up the bluesy song I wrote and I want to explain it a bit before you guys burn me over it :P . I'm planning on changing the layout a bit. The song should be 1st verse, 2nd verse, ending solo fading out. That's the way the song is but after the first verse I have a very slow, soulful type, long solo before the second verse. I like it this way because I like to play the slow solo, especially live. The last solo I wrote is a bit faster. I like them both but they make the song long. And the song is very slow. I like my bluesy stuff so slow it almost trips over itself. I like it slow and soulful.
Now problem number two. The vocals are so freaking loud they should be against the law, and probably are in some states :P ! I'll have to re-record them and I just don't have the time right now because of writing and recording new material. But I know they are a problem. I'm just putting these song up to get some feedback on them. ACWild has helped me so much as far as giving me information on getting my mix improved. Thanks again AC. Anyway, enough with the excuses. Hope you like it.

  • Man, this is another powerful tune by you. It has a Led Zep on testosterone vibe. Your singing and aggressive playing reminds me of John Sykes for some reason. 8) Definitely skip the search for a vocalist.

I think you could use less effects on the guitar, especially if you're doing leads. Sounds like it's chorus? JMHO. Light chorus can help with fattening rhythms, but on leads it can make it sound digital-like. I don't know if that makes any sense.

    Great tune, guitarring, and vocals!
  • Ted Nugent meets AC/DC!

I would actually put this in my play-list. Try to control your vocals volume by changing the distance between the mic and your mouth. That's how I do it. It takes some practice, but you get a feel for it after a while.
  • Cool Sleazy Rock and Roll 8)

Has an 80s feel to it.

    Very very nice
  • Thanks everyone for the replies.

The patch I used on this one is guitar3456's JCM800md. All the rhythm parts are at the default \"43\" gain. The lead varies from \"43\" to \"100\" depending on the feel I was going for. But I know what you mean about less effects. I do tend to go a bit overboard most of the time with them.
  • Another excellent tune Jamie  I like this tune & your singing as AC said you are a good singer I don't know about not trying to find a Lead Singer for your band? I guese that will be up to you? I like both Leads in this Tune Maybe the end lead a little better? But WOW you certainly feel it & let it rip I like that makes such a difference to tunes when you feel it & there is passion there :D Great Job Jamie 8)
  • Hey right on blues! If you like the vocal take you have and you think the vocals are just to loud or on top of the mix just use your compression to pull them down and in the mix. I use a compressor limiter in my software to even out the vocal volume and kind of \"place\" my vocals inside the mix instead of on top of it. Just my 2 cents. Peace out Jammon!
  • Nice to have someone else that digs slow blues.
    Slow is cool.
