New Amp and have some questions about patch points...

(Sorry that I moved this from the GNX3K forum but after 40 views and no answers I though I might move it here)

Just got my Fender Princeton Chorus. And I have some questions.

I know that I connect my GNX3000 into the stereo effect loops to run my 3000 through the amp. So far it's doing great, just have to do some minor tweaking to adjust to the amp cabinet and speakers... And something I just remembered. Should plug in my GNX into the return or send plug. Either one I go into works...

But what if I wanted to run my GNX3000 in front of the amp and only use the effects. Is that possible? If so how should I set up the GNX3000 to do so properly.

Also, what is the Stereo effects loop and mono effects loops for in the first place. I imagine that Fender didn't design the amp to have MFX units ran through them so they must have other purposes. Bot the Stereo and mono effect loops have send and return ports...

Here is the owners manual of the amp if you need more specs to answer the questions.

  • Try the loop returns for the GNX. Nothing into amp frontend, nothing from the loop sends.

To run GNX in front of an amp as an effects-only unit basically requires that you set up your amp model to be \"transparent\" with respect to the amp. This is not always easy to do, and varies from one amp to the next. In other words, the real answer to your real question is, there is no way to turn off the amp modeling.
