Just a quick mix in FLStudio using my new bass (Ibanez GSR200FM) and the GNX4 (JC-Jazz preset) with some added flanger. I bumped up the EQ in FLStudio, added a slight bit of reverb and chorus and panned it a bit to give it a good stereo effect. Drum line was built quickly in FLStudio just to get a feel for what the whole song was going to sound like. I'll go back in later an embelish the drum riffs and add some other nuances to fill out the song.

Pretty darn cool Courtney 8) It's nice to hear something from you I think this thing has a very nice groove to it!! Bass Sounds great I think that is what I will go with as well when I pick a cheap Bass up. As I have heard good thing's about even the cheaper Ibanez Bass's 8) I hear you on the drums about adding some fills cymbals & such. Overall great job IMOP Do you have plans for guitars over this groove? Vocals? Just wondering were you thought this song should go? I think it has potential.

Yea, I'd like to put some guitars in it. I was thinking about it while coming in this morning about what to play over it, where, that sort of thing. I've got something in mind, but I don't know what it'll sound like until I sit down to do it. I think it'll sound ok. During the 3 note progression part I'm thinking of doing just simple chords strummed once quickly. Kinda like the Police, a sort of Reggae feel. Then during the low bass section (A-A#-E-G) I was thinking of soloing over it....maybe do a simple pentatonic pattern or two.

I don't know about vocals. I don't really hear any singing vocals in my head, so I'm thinking that if anything it might just be some spoken words/phrases done here and there....maybe at two or three different spots in the song. What do you hear in the song?

I deffinetly hear guitars. I was thinking how nice of a groove it is & how cool it will sound with guitars Rythem & Lead 8) As far as Vocals, or words well I don't know I was just wondering if that was were you were taking the song & had Ideas for that?

What I had in mind for vocals was just a phrase or two spoken, kinda like you hear ocassionally on a Vai song, such as \"I Would Love To\" off of Passion and Warfare. Perhaps something to the effect of the listener hearing that someone stole some chili....like, \"Hey, who stole the chili?!\" and then later on hearing something like \"It was Billy! Billy did it!\" I don't know...something like that I think.

Heck of a catchy groove going on there. I'd love to hear it finished. 8) There's so many possible directions, it'll be interesting to hear what you have in mind.

Thanks! I had time last night to spruce up the drums. They sound considerably better now....some rolls, double-bass drums, crashes and splashes here and there. I'll upload another version once I get some guitars in it. I might be able to work on it some tonight.
