I think this can be done. Let me make sure the assumptions I am using are correct. They are:
1) You have a sound card in your computer that is not the GNX4, such as a soundblaster or an onboard sound card.
2)The computer speakers are connected just to that soundcard's or board's output
3) The only connection from the GNX4 to the computer is via the USB cable.
Please verify that is set-up you are using, and we'll go from there. I'll give it a try this evening if I hear back from you.
You can do it but why? Unless you have a good sound card non stock fairly pricey sound card you will get more Latency thru the computer than you will using the GNX as the sound card. You can still play your GNX4 through computer speakers though. Just get the appropriate adapters run out the GNX4 to the set of amplified computer speakers you want to play thru. Hope that helps
Is it possible to run the gnx4 output through my computer speakers via the usb? How would one do that?
If you realy want to do this. you use PTP or Sonar whatever your recording software is. In the Audio Setups of the Software. Select your computers Sound Card now sound should be running thru the computers sound card & speakers.

I used to get a adapter and plub my boston acoustics into the headphone out...sounded pretty good a very low volumes ...youknow for bedroom jams and stuff.
Well, actually, i couldn't find a way to make it work. Partch's instructions are definitely on the right track, but I could not find a way to get the USB to be the input and the computer speakers to have the output.
