Heavy patches

Hi, I'm a new member, just posted a couple of patches for the gnx3000. Most of them are for metal/hardrock, made them by warping amps together to get interesting sounds. Any kind of feedback would be cool or if you've any opinions on how the patchs could be improved would be really appreciated!

  • Hey,

If you post a short 20 sec clip along with the patch that might help.

Personally I don't download patches unless I've heard a sample.
  • Ok, I posted a clip on soundclick, the address is http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=614935 I never realised uploading was so slow! I tried to post something on the sound community website but I thought it wasn't workind cuz it was taking ages!

Point taken though, I'll put up some clips with the next patches I post!
  • Hi Firstly I would like to say thanks for uploading your patches,

second, I couldn't care less about samples as it takes 2 seconds to download and try a patch and it will not sound the same on my gear as yours anyway.

third unfortunately I can only get one to work as the rest have an error in the header. If you click on the link instead of \"save as\" you'll see what I mean.

If you get them fixed I'll be sure to have a go.

    Thanks,

    Gary

Ofcourse it will sound different, but at least you get an idea.

I think most people prefer to hear a sample of the tones uploaded.

Just so they don't waste time downloading crap.

  • I have a 64k connection and a sound clip is usually between 500k and 5 mg (40secs - 15 mins download). The patch however is 21k (3 secs).... now talk to me about wasting time downloading crap..

I had/nor have no wish to offend but felt it should be pointed out that some of us are happy to download a patch without said clip.

    Fair enough.

I'm not looking for trouble either.

But alot of the patches are crap.

I'm not saying this fellows patches are crap btw.

You don't have to download it or listen to the whole sample, you will pretty much know from the first few notes whether you like the patch or
    not.

I used to have dial up aswell and it was 56k.

I don't usually download patches but if I listen to a sample I can give some feedback to the creator 8)

    Better than nothing.
  • Hi Gary, the patches didn't work for you? I'm using an mac computer so maybe there are compatability issues because the X-edit for mac is a bit weird, for example .acm files can't be loaded or it crashes...but you're saying I shouldn't use save as and just use save instead and then they'll work out ok?

    Thanks for the advice anyway!
  • No, sorry I didn't mean you should use \"save\" instead of \"save as\" as a rule.

It's just that when you click on the link direct the window usually changes to the .xml view which shows all the settings, just with yours it states there is a fault. The bizarre thing is one of them does work???

Sorry for the confusion, but again thanks for your contribution..

    Yours,
    Gary
  • Ok, I understand now! Thanks for clearing that up, I'll try reposting them in a few days time, hopefully they'll work then!
  • Hey Gordo,
Nice tone man!! That sounded great 8) To bad I have GNX4 I would probably try this one out :(

    God Bless Gordo!!

  • Thanks for the compliment Partch, I'll hopefully get some more music up on soundclick over the next few weeks!
  • Sorry I got here late, haven't been around for a long time. I too have a GNX4 but gotta say that sounds killer, nice and fat. Wish I could try it for myself. Nice job!!!
