Late Night Groove

I did this for an \"assignment\" on another site, but thought I might ask for some feedback here. I did this one, late at night (hense the oh so clever name), and wrote it as I was recording. If you would be so kind, let me know what you think, and how it can be improved.

Thanks,
I/O

  • Kick ass groove going there. Lots of energy going on and a nice rich tone. 8)

The mix sounds odd as the drums have lots of reverb and the guitars are dry. You might want to take the reverb out of the drums and then add reverb in the final mix. JMHO. Cool tune! :D
  • Not bad at all there insideout. The recording level was a little low. One thing I might try, is change up the kick pattern a bit in spots. Axe tones are nice and mix levels are good. Great tune, keep it up.

    Keep Rock'in P.G. :)

  • Some very nice widdling 8)

Cool phrases, liked it alot 8)
  • Rob,
Cool jam!! I always like the tone you bring in your post!! I notice you have the GNX3000. I think that is part of it. I think the tone of the 3000 is a little better than the GNX4.

    God Bless Rob!!

I agree. I've noticed that people who record with the 3000 usually go dry instead of using reverb to smooth things out. JMHO.
  • Hey Guys, thanks a lot for listening! 8)

ACWild, I agree about the mix. I was trying to follow advice on a tune I posted a while ago, to bring the reverb up on drums to make it \"breathe\" a little. Clearly, I need to practice with that a little  . Sorry, you got sensored, however, I got the message, and I appreciate the compliment 8)

PG, thanks for the comments! 8) I'm going to try some different input level ideas for my next recording. The master level on this one is almost clipping, so I can't go up. Thanks again for listening :D

Slash, thanks! Glad you liked it :D

Partch, I appreciate it! I don't have much experience with the GNX4... all I can tell you is that I absolutely LOVE the 3k. I was in a rut, and it pulled me out in a big way, and got me into recording which has been a really fun challenge :D :x :D:(:D:cry::D
