Ya Baby

I felt like goofing around with some effects. The song is pretty basic again, but I played with some pitch shift and of course - ya ya :D As always, comments on mix etc would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
I/O

  • insideout,
Hey cool little groove there!!! Sounded like you had fun soloing over that?? I like it sounded cool!! I need to spend some time with GNX4 just playing around with effects and such so I have a better idea what eveything does. Before this GNX4 I had and overdrive pedal & chorus pedal. So this thing offers so much I've never used or know how to use properly. Take care.

    God Bless!!!

  • Hey 'out...I dug this. Nice groove on the slow rythm, with a rippin lead to spice it up so it wouldn't drag. The mix was good - only thing I'd do different if I were me is to even out the high end/treble bite between the yaya groove and the bite-y soloing. Lots of bite in the solo, not as much in the groove. Bass was also hard to pull out of the mix. But overall it was a kewl jam and a great listen!! Great job dood!!!
  • Excellent playing...
    Effects were pretty cool... 8)

    See Ya,

  • ya ya YA :D
Simple or not --doesen't matter --the question is does it MOVE you and I say YES castleman it moves me and another quality tune from your skull :)
mix sounds great---If I were picky I'd say it sounds a little digital in the tone---but who can get away from that with these gnx's
    keep rockin bro
  • Thanks for listening guys!!

Partch, yes, this was a fun one. Just messin' around with effects and thought, hey this sounds cool - I should record it :D

Shredd, appreciate the feedback man! I agree on the bite on the lead - the patch is a sweet Marsh tone, but when I put the pitch shift on, it got really trebley (is that a word??). It didn't sound as bad through my amps, but I should have gone back to tweak it anyway.

Tal, as always, it's great to hear from you - much appreciated 8)

Wogs, My skull thanks you   . Glad you were moved (and not removed  ). I also agree on the tone - I should have taken more time to tweak before I posted it. Always enjoy hearing from you Paul!!

    Thanks again!

insideout Posted: comments on mix etc would be most appreciated.

Kinda Brite. I think the drums need to come up in the mix too. ..hmmm just my 2 cents ...oh yea and you asked. I really think its a sweet jam. :P
  • Thanks ODB 8) . You're right, I asked for it :D . That's why I posted it.. to get advice from the folks I respect - hey, that's you  . I've tried to use the EQ in PTP, but it doesn't seem to be activated :( . Is there any other way that you guys know of to tweak the high end down in PTP once it's recorded, or do I just have to start over. :x . Can anyone tell me why the EQ function is there, but not active?
  • I am a sucker for the ya-ya effect.
    Nice job.
  • Thanks thatsastrat! Glad you liked it, and I appreciate the listen 8)
  • I've always wanted to use the ya effect, but never could think of anything that I liked. This is really cool. Strong groove on this tune. Very cool. 8)
The mix sounded good on my speakers, but that's not saying much.
  • Thanks ACWild! I appreciate the nice words!! 8) Hey, Christmas is coming, maybe DigiSanta will bring you new speakers :D

Ha ha, I meant my computer speakers. They're Klipsch THX, but I have a bad wire that's driving me nuts!
I really like the groove you've got going in your song. It's the type that makes me get off my butt.
