Vox AD50 or Roland Cube 60
Hey,
Which of these amps would you say is more suitable to doing small venue gigs.
Do they sound good at a high volume etc?
The music I play will be mainly blues and classic rock nothing with mega distortion.
You can't buy either of them where I live so I would have to import, so the tax added on will be quite a bit, So a tube amp is really out of the question.
Thanks

Definitely the VOX for blues, and classic rock. It's a very good amp.
Not the widest selection of tones, but all things considered, plenty versatile unless you need super high-gain. The tones it does do, it does extremely well. Effects selection/customizing is not done real well, but for most of the blues/rock stuff I do, all I really need is the reverb. (After all, if I need other stuff, I do own the GNX3K...)
I must admit though, I've not tried or heard the Cube 60 - just never been a big fan of the Roland/BOSS COSM tones. Plenty of pros use them for gigging, I just don't care for them. Don't need them - I have my VOX and my GNX!
I've actually just ordered a Laney LV200 Hybrid 65 watt, I played the LV300 in the shop and it sounded real nice. 8)
These are the latest Hybrids from Laney and I think they are built in the UK, they replace the TF series.
Both the Vox and Roland were to expensive after taxes.
i went for a hughes and kettner instead. i've got the gnx for amp sims and am happy with my amp.
