GNX2 > POD XT

Hi guys, A friend of mine is trading me a POD XT for my GNX2. What do you think?

  • Why do you think he wants to trade? I have two friends who use Pods and I'm not inpressed. Good luck 8)
  • This is not the answer i'm looking for. I need Pros and Cons, to make a choise.
  • Do the trade. Then eBay the PodT and get a GNX4 or GXN3000 with the money.
  • Well, i'm testing a POD XT Live and let me tell you, it beat the GNX2 hands down. The GNX sounds like a toy in comparison to the POD.

I would like to hear more on this. I have a GNX3000 and was looking into the XT live. tell me more if you would.
  • I have had a PodXT, a RP 2000, I currently have a GNX2 and a Tonelab tabletop, and I tried the GNX3000 and sent it back.

The PodXT is a good unit, it has the best reverb of any modeler out there, however that said it is the most digital sounding of the five I have owned. It has the most models and you can buy more.

The GNX2 is my favorite live unit, it is grittier than the GNX3000 or the XT but it sounds more realistic to a tube amp sound.

However all that said I went back to analog stomps and a tube amp for my daily practice. They just sounds sweeter.

My advice, keep the GNX2 it has pedals and it does harmonies, two things the PodXT does not have or do. The GNX2 also has a wider range of tones.

I sold my PodXT when I got the Tonelab and have not missed it for a single moment.
