Stand up bass sound ...

I'm looking for that sound of a muted bass kind of , like the ones they used to put out with the thing by the bridge tjhat went over all the strings to mute them just a little bit to give it that \"stand up\" sound ... is there a patch like this already? I plan on using a bass with this patch if I can get it (just letting people know, some would go for the sound from a guitar if they had to, I am not)

A good example of the sound I'm looking for is the bass tone of \"Stand by me\" (O darlin darling stand , by me, oh stand byyy me , etc )

Haven't seen a patch like that yet. I would suggest if you have a midi keyboard to try soundfonts. I've used one on a couple of songs I wanted a stand up sound on and it worked great.

You could always do it the original way and palm mute. But it kind of changes your plucking style if you use your fingers to play. Works for me though.
