B2030A or B2031A?
Hi all,
Being in the market for some studio monitors, i couldnt help noticing the glowing reviews for the behringer B2031A. I even hear g3456 has a pair himself!
I was wondering if the sound quality of the smaller version, B2030a is comparable to the 31A, as my desk is fairly full, and the addition of speakers might well cramp things up a bit, hence my interest in the physically smaller speaker.
Thanks.

I can't speak to the B2030A...but when I read product comparison and feedback...I noticed people say they picked up radio interference...unless they used XLR connectors to minimize this. I don't know if it is because the bigger brother has the Linkwitz-Riley filter's, and the smaller B2030A do not. I can't find info on that.
I'd bet the radio interference is a quality control issue, not a model issue. Be aware of it & make sure you can return them if it's a problem for you.
The \"Linkwitz-Riley filter\" is the crossover, and apparently both versions use the same crossover & tweeter, so the highs should be equivalent.
2030A's by themselves will not produce the same bass as the 2031A at lower volumes.
No they are not mackie 824's but very closely spec'd, and half the price of just one 824.
Tannoy's, Krk, Samson, Alesis are closely avail in the price range. 2031a's are the best bang for buck monitors. They'll help you achieve great mixes, and provide enough spare change for headsets like the Sony Mdr7506 (7509), or Audio technica ATHM40FS.
I got the smaller version because with my PA I just need them for mixing at regular volumes they are awsome and that being said are plenty loud.
My buddy got the 2031s and they are a bit more money but are much louder than mine. They also have a kool auto shutoff feature mine dont have so after a bit they detect no activity they shut off automaticlly. they are about 80 bucks more too. a bit overkill for what I need. but perfect for greg because those are all he has. also he wanted the extra headroom. they sound exactly the same our mixes match perfectly so its really a matter of how much power you'll need. for a STUDIO garage or home studio the 2030s are great. I have even used them at practise. But if you want a little more...cant go wrong with the 2031s. Its a no loose situation both are a great choice IMO for the money.
When i go into the store i will try them both out
