Beach Bummin' (By Tal)

Got back a couple of weeks ago from Padre Island. Hung out on the beach and just had many Jimmy Buffet type days. You know..Like the Corona commercials. Then the opening licks started dancing around my head. Next thing you know I'm going full tilt till it's finished. :)

Anyway the old ES175 was begging me to play it after being neglected for the last two tune with my Tele and Strat crying fo attention.
So all parts are done on the ES175. Lead is done with the Pat Jazz preset.
Rhythm is done with the Jazz Chorus preset and Bass is done with guitar to Bass preset..

I finally upgraded from Pro-Traks to Sonar Home Studio LE..
Hope I didn't screw the mix up too bad while playing with the software.:lol::lol:

Hope you guys dig it. 8)
Makes me want to go to Margaritaville and take my shoes off and hang out in the sand..(If you listen carefully at the end you might...Just might hear a lick from a song about sand, famous in the 60's)..:lol::lol:

Almost forgot...
Here's the link for the tune by the way..

  • Hey Tal,
I just got back from a week on a lake up here in NH where Corona Curls was my daily exercise. Nice to have this waiting! Very nice tune and very different than your recent stuff. Love the ES's tone... well done!

  • Tal,
Very nice!! I agree that guitar just has such a sweet almost dreamy kind of tone. As for your playing as always just so smooth you just flow like water in your pieces!! Don't seem like you had any problems with the new software?? Anyhow keep your eyes peeled for an Original from me. I don't know how soon, its just kind of a rough Idea, and I've never done anything Original, at least like whole song Words, ryhtem, lead etc.. I think trying to make original drums rather than one of the staight up canned patterns will be the toughest part?? Anyhow the song is called Abide In Me. Talk to you later.
    God Bless Tal!!!

  • Very nice Tal.

Reminds me of those tunes from those 60's films 8)
  • :D wOw  I've been in that Summertime Jimmy Buffett mood too for some darn reason. This sounds most excellent Tal . Great mood and fine playing as expected from you. Awsome post 8) ....now where that lime at to go with this Corona.
  • Tal that was topnotch as usual and that ain't no bull  Seems to come so easily for you (must be nice) :D Hey how do you like sonar? Thinking about upgrading myself!
  • well I just love that tone and the mood of this tune fit's sooo well with a lazy summer day at the beach

nicely done as usual mr tal :)
  • Nice Tal Rules, even on the first listen. Very easy to follow the melody.
  • I can see palm trees swaying in the breeze, smell the salty air, taste the cervasa fria....WHOA! check out the thong on THAT one...
  • Nice job Tal, keep it up, and you're going to put Jimmy Buffet out of business. You have a unique sound and style that is all your own, and that's why everything you do is appreciated by ALL guitarists.
  • Tal,

As always, you nail it on the clean tones 8) What a great feel to that tune :!: I'm going to go turn my distortion off and chill with a nice cold one, and dream of the thong girl that Cobalt was kind enough to share with us
  • Come back from a little R&R and I find all these posts..
    You guys made my year..

    dugraha
Sonar has really made the mixing process easier. A lot more features than pro traks and the interface seems a lot more intuitive. At least to me.. Keep your eyes peeled on Ebay and Amazon. (Cheapest places I found)..

    Blue Gator, InsideOut, GH, Grathan:
I'm with you guys on the ES175..
It's just got such a sweet tone clean I kind of hate to overdrive it like I do my solid bodies.. 8)

    Partch:
    Keep working at it Bro..
Remeber to please yourself first when composing tunes.
I generally have found if I like a tune when I finish composing it usually one other person may like it as well. If just one other person digs what you're doing then that's really cool. Humbles me to check this board and see all these great replys. Thanks guys... 8)

    0DB, Wog, Cobalt, Slash:
    I'm with you guys..
Let's head back to Padre, and make one of those Corona commercials.:lol::lol:

    Thanks once again guys..
    Really means a lot..
