Up until now I have been using my G4 ibook to record my GNX3k via USB. I was using Garageband. My processor is running very hot and I want to avoid trying to record on the iBook.
I am looking for a multitrack recorder. I will record using that and then take final file back to Audacity to master (maybe).
I like the look of either Zoom MRS8 or the Boss BR600. I want to use the drum machine function and try to create my own songs/backing tracks also.

Any advice on the units would be awesome.
I like the Compact Flash R/W.. you can find them easier than SM cards.
Always liked Zoom drum sounds.. BR600 has better ones than they used in previous models that sounded like choking kicks in playback.
MRS 8 has NO USB connectivity, the BR600 does. For comp recording, you'll definitely want that for data transfer.

if i wanna run my GNX3000 into it , I should plug straight into the input on the Br600 to record it correct...?
