  • Really Good partch, i can't really say much about the mixing and levels as i have no experience but to me it sounded perfect, the levels of the instruments and vocals were spot on.

Cool song, not really my usual style to listen to, but i enjoyed listening to it.The clean sound sounded very nice, is that a patch already on the Gnx?

Hey you should do a heavy metal song but still with Religious lyrics. You could take a hymn then maybe do it in your own style. it would be awesome along with your cool songs such as We fall down :D

wickerman: \"Hey you should do a heavy metal song but still with Religious lyrics\"

 I saw Striper (religoius rock)in the 80's...I think it was the \"To Hell with the Devil\" tour. yellow and black striped spandex I think is what they where wearing so much aquanet you could choke a horse  ...So How bout it Partch some Heavy Christian RAWK comin our way from you soon? 8) I think I have some leppard skin spandex still around.
  • yeah baby break out the spandex  :lol:

sounds good eric---nice mix and your voice is coming along nicely---much better this song I think. yeah we should get some christian metal going on :)

I don't know but the thought of yellow and black spandex with the big hair just make me laugh OUT LOUD

  • Sounds nice partch! I dunno what this sounded like on Sunday, but I think you're finding out what's neat about recording (v. playing live): that you can play a part as many times as you want until it sounds just like you want it to. Then you get to put all the parts together sounding just the way you want. An excellent effort!
I'd really enjoy hearing you put other tunes down, whether in their original style, or in another style. I love the idea these guys all had of taking songs that are meaningful to you and changing the tone or style or whatever. Heavy metal christian music? Why not? Why not bluesy, and new age-y, and pop-sy too?
As a Christian, I'm sure you'd be thrilled to hear my latest recording project is a song I wrote that was inspired simultaneously by a melody I heard on a Cinemax \"adult-oriented\" show, and a row of anger I had when my boss abused me that day. Lust and Anger...only five to go...sigh...
Standby, guys...I'm going on vacation, and I'm gonna work on it when I get back. If you miss me, I'll be at Jennifer Aniston's house, licking the pavement and begging to get in.
  • Thanks all for the VERY gracious comments, feedback!!! I truly appreciate them, and all the encouragement you all give!! We do a vast array of music at our Church, in many differnt styles & ways. As far as doing Christian Hard Rock, Metal covors Great!! In time. My problem is so little time beyond my already filled up music time weekly, to work on ear training from cd's!! I know this is one of my weaker areas that I will deffinetly Work on!! So expect some Kutless, Pillar, POD etc.. I just need to committ some time to work on that. As far as more stuff we do from Church just done in different styles?? This would probably be less work for me, because I know the Music we play it alot. I never did get into Stryper I think To Hell With the Devil was the only song I knew because it made MTV. Spandex is deffinetly out for me!! LOL Anyhow God Bless you all!!! Keep your eyes peeled As I want to grow in this area and will continue to post. I mean how will I get better if I don't??

I used Takamine Acoustic patch, and DGWALL patch for Electric. Both patches from MFX Supermodels.

    God Bless Wickerman!!

    P.S.
Keep your ears peeled for some heavier stuff!!!

  • Wow, i gotta get the supermodels Cd
  • Partch - I just got done listening to your first song posted and then this one, back to back. Wow-vast improvement in the mix. Vocal is very nice on this second song. The lead and rhythm levels, I think, are right on, they balance very well. If it were me, I would back the drums off a touch. Percussion cuts through even when it is at a slightly lower level. The vocal could stand a touch more presence. If you have this as a separate track in PTP, (I use Sonar, so I may be telling you things that are not available) add a touch of gain using the compressor effect, somehere in the 3.0 range, that will bring the vocal more forward in the mix. Then to soften the edges, add a touch of reverb from the Lexicon Pantheon package. I like the Vocal Plate preset, but set it at about 20% in the mix level. Overall, though, this is very nice

And, if this was all done on the GNX 8 track and you have no way of making these adjustments, forget what I just said and keep playing.
  • just got my down load quota back...so have been able to down load a few tunes... Good work partch...I know the song well...you have a good voice...keep up the good work and grow in confidence..
