Where can i buy bulk packs of strings?

When i mean bulk packs i mean 200-500.
I now change my strings every week cos if i leave them any longer they sound terrible and the intonation slips on the e string and they get real dirty despite me making sure my hands are clean before i play.

Obvioulsy shops will by them by the truck load so they make a profit when they sell them on their own.Does anyone know any online stores where shop owners may go.

i know its gonna cost a lot but ill save in the long run.

thanks

  • You might want to give FASTFRET a try. These keep my strings sounding new much longer.

I'll second that. Been using it for years. Usually at least doubles my string life, even back when I was playing out 2 or 3 times a week.
  • Wickerman,
I use Dunlop products: There is a string conditioner that has aplicator and everything. You just rub up each string a couple of times every so often wipe of excess wala. Your strings wont squeak as much, and will fell clean and new. I know I don't play near as much or as long as you BUT: I play enough weekly, and I just changed my strings out for the first time on the JS. It's been 4 months, they were just starting to get a litle unstable, but still had decent tone, still bright, and responsive. All yeah I play DAdaria 9-42's. I by 10 packs from Musicians friend, and at the rate of every 4 months give or take it will take some time to use those up. All yeah by the way the longer the better for because of the floating trem!! If you replace 1 string at a time great!! If you take them all of as to clean and treat the fretboard this is a chore I must confess. Although next time I'm geusing my 2 hour process will be about an hour. This was total clean up, condition, wax etc.. But still 2 hours to get back in commision?? Ouch!!!!!!!! Just some thoughts??
    God Bless!!

  • SIT(Stays In Tune) Strings is a wholesale only company if you want to buy as a dealer. They have worldwide sales/dealers and guarantee them to stay in tune. http://www.sitstrings.com/company1.htm

The (late?) Virgil Lay supplied the parts for my custom guitar.

I use D'addario 10-46, i really can't find much of a difference between them and other popular makes such as Ernie Ball and Rotosound, is it just personel choice?

Partch what i do is take two strings off at a time then i can clean that are of the fretboard without the bridge piece falling out and there is still some tension on the neck.
  • I got one shipment in from Olympia along with some electronics my band imported from Korea

    http://olympiakorea.trustpass.alibaba.com/product/11497232/Olympia_HQ_Acoustic_Guitar_Strings.html

They actually OEM for some of the famous names.
  • I am really after D'addario 10-46
  • I'm surprised no one here mentioned webstrings. They make the strings for a number of manufacturers and sell direct. I've been really happy with them.

  • I use D'Addario XLS520's They are Stainless Steel and last way longer than the regular D'Addario's. They are a little brighter sounding though. Good for playing lead.

  • Dude dont buy huge packs of hundreds.
You'll find by the time you get to the last 50 packs that they have rusted or at least corroded to some extent. To a lesser extent the may have become accustomed to the circular shape.

No one but shops by huge amounts of packs of strings because they do not go thru them quick enough. They have a short shelf life. They go \"off\".
  • Ok, thanks for that. saved me alot of money.I have recently bought some fast fret and it really works well!
