Cant seem to upload any members music at DT.

Hi guys,

Can you tell me if there are any tricks to uploading member’s music over at the Digitech site?

I seem to be having a bit of trouble. I’m constantly receiving “The page cannot be displayed” message in IE. Also tried in Fire Fox with the same result.

Am I missing something :?

The file is just over 6Mb with a small amount of text for the description.

I have contacted DTech, but I though I might see if you guys had any clues.

Cheers

Michael.

  • Sometimes this happens when a lot of other people are already uploading (I just tried and got an error message to that end). Try again later. If the problem persists, make a post here and I'll notify admin.
  • I tried it a couple times yesterday. I’ve tried it twice today.

  • Do you get a \"too many concurrent uploads\" message when you get to the upload form?
  • Not when I first get there.

I hit the upload button wait for a while then the “The page cannot be displayed” message comes up. I refresh and then it said something along the lines of not being able to upload too many times consecutively. Try again later.

  • OK I just uploaded a song and it worked. Try now.

Also, make sure your browser is allowing pop-ups, it might have to do with the progress bar pop-up.
  • Damn!

Got the \"too many concurrent uploads\" blow off.

And I called the tune \"Satch Sunday\" lol.

I guess it will have to be \"Satch Monday\" then.

I'll try again a bit later.

    Cheers

  • Keep reloading, you should get your place in line within a few minutes. At least that's how it's worked for me in the past.
  • also I've noticed that if something goes wrong on the first try then you need to leave it for a while(an hour or so) then it seems to work

I don't know how big 6mb is but I had trouble when my file wasn't compressed
  • Well, after waiting a few more hours I still cant win.

I havent recieved any feedback from DT yet.

I dont know, maybe I should look for a music hosting site or something.

    Cheers

  • OK, just tried it again and got the dreaded \"
“The page cannot be displayed” message for the 20th time.

Tried to refresh the page and received this message on the DT web site.

    Error (89): Session expired error

Something about having to log on again or try refreshing the page. Both of which I tried and it didn’t make any difference.

Sorry to have to trouble you guys with this problem. I'm just not getting any response from DT support.

  • micheal I had similar probs when I first started posting tunes
I am trying to remember what the prob was and what I did
are you making it mp3 or wav---forgive me if you've already answered this

I think I had to run it through a encoder

I had it say error 89 forever
then browser couldn't didn't have upload feature

    keep on---we'll get it working
ALSO I NEVER HEARD FROM DIGITECH AFTER MANY EMAILS---THEY WILL NOT ANSWER----YOU HAVE TO CALL THEM
  • Hey WOGS858,

the file is an MP3 and the size of it is about 6.2meg. So it should be well within the guide lines.

Bit disappointed with DT personally. With this issue and the issue's I had with X-Edit.

I wonder if they have an Australian customer support number. This could get expensive calling the states lol.

I might see if I can upload it from another computer. Just to see if there is any difference.

    Cheers mate.

  • From what it sounds like, it might be an issue with your browser settings. Have you tried it on another browser (Firefox, etc if you're using IE currently)? Most browsers will allow you to browse through an extensive list of features that you can enable or disable (in the name of convenience or security), and while I cannot pinpoint exactly the symptoms you're describing, browsing through that list of options may tip you off to potential reason.

Other than that, like I said, I uploaded a file myself last night, so I can't say that I can recreate your problem. Sorry that I couldn't be more helpful.

If you want to seek Australian-based support, I would recommend asking these guys:

    CENTRAL MUSIC INSTRUMENTS
    36-38 EXPORT DRIVE
    BROOKLYN VIC 3013 AUSTRALIA
    Tel. (61 3) 9315 2244
    Fax. (61 3) 9315 2115
    E-mail: cmi@cmi.com.au

They may very well have a lead for you, if not the answer. Unfortunately, the upload site is Digitech-operated, so I would, at the most, count on them providing a more local Digitech support outlet, if such does exist.

Also considering calling the US number for ~1 minute and inquiring regarding a local support number.
  • Hey iliace,

Yeah I had a look through my browser settings and there doesn’t seem to be anything enabled/disabled that could be causing the problem. At a glance anyways. I did try Fire Fox and it led to the same result.

Do you think it’s unusual that I could upload a patch and sound clip without any problems, yet the tune failed? It seems to be the same process on Digitechs side of things.

    I can’t say thanks enough for your patience and help with this (to all of you that is). I would rather be asking interesting questions regarding my GNX or about writing music or something. Not something about uploading a bloody file:{

Well I have a few more ideas up my sleeve before I give up on the upload for good. Once I have burnt out these ideas, I think I may look into a hosting site to store my tunes.

    Cheers

  • Delete all you cookies and temporary internet files...then go to the \"Temp\" folder ...in XP, with your browser closed
    windows explorer
    my computer
    local disc C
    documents & settings (you must have \"show hidden files & folders\" enabled in-\"tools\",folder option,-\"view\")
    your name
    local settings
    temp

Delete everything in that folder (Fire Fox shares the same folder w/ IE)
Restart the browser, re-log in to the site and try it again
