G3456 Resign as moderator
Guys... it is with respect to this Community as well as to Digitech that I am backing out as moderator. I do not wish to see ifuriating posts.. so please DON'T . I'm not asking and haven't asked anything of anyone other than to GIVE eachother that continued respect. Extend the same courtesies you would anyone else. Even if you disagree. What made this community strong is the fact that most people have mannerisms and professionalism that exceeded many other public forums. You helped to create that !! please continue to do so.
I'll be around, so will some newer guys !!
peace my friends!!

Partch
maybe you can untie that hand behind your back now.
All I can say is thank you...for everything.
I appreciate all the advice and help you've given me since I purchased my GNX4 several months ago. I hope you continue to participate in the forums, you have true God-given talents and you so freely and happily offer them to others.
Thanks again!
Tim
This Forum is unique in it's measure of quality and professionalism ( which in turn is a reflection of Digitech's products we all LOVE )...however, against your modesty...much of the credit should go to you. I personally don't know how gentlemen like you, iliace, AlbertA, and GNX Jammer have the energy and heart to carry out Moderator duties. You deserve a break...and I am grateful that you will be available still...and yet even as a regular guy here...you are as everyone will nod...Numero Uno.
We will wholeheartly welcome the \"new guy's\" and not expect them to fill your shoes. It would take someone very special.
.....what is that song....
\"For He is the Jolly Good Fellow\" only done with the style and talent of wickerman's band. Now that's a song...I would sing to...for you. :? There goes the tolerance and restraint I once enjoyed... :?
....wanna try one last edit
You have earned my respect for your move.
It is plain to see that you are very knowledgeable and helpful. You have spent countless hours in answering questions on this forum.
Lately, the forum was sensing your stress in controlling the conflicts of interest between your dual roles as Moderator and Author of the Supermodel disks.
They were beginning to doubt the two cornerstones of the Supermodel disk concept :
A) The claimed blessings and technical support, encouragement and access to hidden internal knowledge directly from DIGITECH and the hints/rumours that the GNX3000 was actually designed and then redesigned around the Supermodel disks.
Besides the ethical tensions created by the dual roles, the role of Moderator also wrongly gave some level of credibility to the above rumours.
You have made the honourable move by resigning from the role as Moderator at the right time.
G3456 the Moderator is gone,
Welcome again to G3456 the supportive, knowledgeable person who has always been ready to share his know how and experience with this board !!!
I'm so sorry to hear this..
First AA and now you...
Let me just say that I admired the way you professionally handled yourself as moderator on this forum..
You are a class act dude, and I appreciate it.. 8)
And you have inspired me as well with your knowledge of the Digitech product line. Poor old 20th century Tal is slowly being dragged into the 21st century by knowledgeable individuals such as yourself, AA, GNXJammer, Illace, and the rest of you guys.
Have read your posts for about the last year and a 1/2 (Since I bought the GNX4) and have been blown away by your technical knowledge of the gear.
Didn't understand what you were saying about half the time, but you just intrigued the hell out of me about the possibilites of the gear I had never tried.. (Yeah... A year and 1/2 and hadn't even hooked the thing to computer.)
Well you guys finally won out and about a week ago, poor old 20th century Tal finally installed the software and hooked the thing up to the USB port.
It is truly an amazing piece of gear and thank you for opening my eyes to the possibilites. 8)
Now I've really got some questions..
Really appreciate your great job as a modererator and look forward to your continued precense on this board. 8) 8) 8)
Thanks so much...
Tal 8)
Cheers for all your help!
Michael
P.S. I still cant get the software working
First let me say thanks to all those that support creative efforts. We did all we can to advance your usage, many at your requests and will continue to do so. Now that we have a much better understanding of these applications and cabinet designs, we can help develop better ideas for live sound and recording tones alike. All will benefit.
We have ongoing work with the educational campaigns and have reps from Digitech, Native Inst, Ear Candy, Cakewalk, Guitar Center, Sam Ash.. and soon Sweetwater. Some suggested we helped kill a community but the bigger picture is more than many may ever know. Our work has opened eyes and ears among mfg's, here and at NAMM shows. And they sure listen. Extensive research with the help of these vendors will aid us all in the future.
There's a lot of handshaking, communications now and in the future that can bring many new ideas to the table.. and to your feet. Ideas that examine the nature of what complexities surround the modeling world. In Live sound and DAWS. All of those mfg's have a stake in this as well as a claim to fame for their reputations. All are willing to advance new ideas. All those things have costs.. R&D is not cheap or free.. advancement requires time, effort and considerable manpower to create. No matter who does it. There are believers and non believers in every field. My 28 years of acoustic and audio engineering experience along with collegues of mine combine for over 126 years of education/expertise and have convinced many mfg's wake up... it's a new dawn! Other vendors may not think so.. but will be far behind the 8 ball sooner than expected. Gradually we have brought these company leaders to pay attention to these ideas. It's not easy to convince a company Chairmen of such benefits in an unknown market.
For those that believe our efforts are one sided... you have no idea! All this false claim stuff is your own doing. I won't let a few nay sayers, pirates, challenge or halt our efforts when we have the support of many industry developers, dealers and mfg's. Graphs, even for us and as many mfg's, cab builders are rough drafts.. nothing else.. in audio things change constantly.. with age, user, and equipment. To tackle that all is impossible since ther are no absolutes. I wish it was that easy.. To make it less challenging is possible. 192Kbit samples will never fit into a GNX... not unless that GNX had a Dual Core and costs exceeding 2G's.. who'd buy it then? Hence, I will never support or misrepresent data of any such claim.. never have..never will. So don't bother to ask for charts.
Our reps know how many sales of Digitech units are a direct result of our web, and staff support.. let alone reason for 57% less returns of GNX3's and GNX4's in this region alone. Our site is now given to many new buyers and a reason it gets bombarded with hits on the large tutorial vids.. A measured reason why 12% of L6 users have found this company product better in the last year. Once they learn to understand GNX, they appreciate it more and more. All things said.. maybe there are less patches, but there are a much higher percentage of users, along with their capacity to understand how to use the modeler..whether new or old, each can formulate their own sound.. to their rig..play more.. post less Faq's...need less patches= forum not as busy. It's easy to solve that riddle.
Many of you here are as responsible for the larger community. New users learn their product moreso than in other forums.. I know.. I watch. So do CEO's of companies from time to time.. I know.. they've told me!! Look at the number of positive reviews now for Digitech here, and at Harmony Central and Dealer sales reviews from users at Musicians Friend, and other internet dealers of musical equip.. they all say this community is A1!! pat your backs.. you deserve it!! Peace !!! I'll be around...
G3456
Good to hear from you! :P Nice vacation Soggy? :P
Peace,
Dobb.
I wrote him a few questions some time back and he responded with much helpful info and impressed me ,in this age of JERKS, as person of excellent character. He did not make any money from his help in teaching me a few key concepts of GNX4 recording.
I do not spend much time here because I am usually too busy playing my guitar but It gave me comfort to know if I had a serious problem gtr3456 would be here to help.
Whomever instigated this horrible event should be ashamed.
They have driven off a great teacher.
Mike ,Take care and I hope you do stay around this board to help the majority of us who are seeking knowledge and are polite and well spoken. Good luck and Thank you.
