EZDrummer

This was done using EZDrummer which is the best drumming solution I have found for non drummers...Also using my GNX4.

  • Gotcha. I checked out EZD, looks pretty awesome, but $179? Ouch.
On the other hand - it makes absolutely sick drumming. Your recording is killer. Did you do the pitch shift with a control footswitch? Change patches? Any which way, it's an excellent jam...
  • Thanks Shred for the review. EZDrummer is pretty cool and is worth the money. It is all drag and drop Midi. I have struggled with finding a drum solution for a couple of years and this seems to be the easiest one I have found.

The Jam is done using Sonar XL for recording and those are double Leeds using the JCM800 patch on the GNX4. :)
  • kirkbauer1,
Sounds realy good!! Nice playing and tone!! This Ez Drummer may be worth a look for me in the future!! As I realy other than using the canned loops have not come up with anything using the drum maps in Pro Tracks seems very tedious and hard for as you said non drummer. Anyhow again great sound!!
    God Bless!!!

  • Man, that was really professional sounding. Excellent!!! Nice, crisp metal tones, interesting progression - yum 8)

EZdrummer sounds really good. I've been looking for drum software that doesn't have a huge learing curve - I just don't have the time - so I'll have to check this out. Thanks for sharing this tune - it really is excellent!

  • Heya kirk.
That was great. Ezdrummer sounds impressive. I love tinkering around with drum plug-ins. I use Fxpansion's BFD myself. Like EZDrummer, BFD sounds full and raw.
    Nice guitar playin too!

  • Hi FireJack018,

Thanks for review. I have been trying for a long time in finding something this easy for a long time. I have spent a lot of money on things like StormDrum, Kontakt and a bunch of other stuff and this was the easiest to use. I downloaded a bunch of free Midi Drum files from Groove Monkey and I just drag and drop the Midi files and its done…and speaking of some nice guitar playin, your Satriani stuff is beautiful. I don’t get here to often since I am stuck in the dark ages with a dial up modem. Arghhh!!! Keep on makin music…
    :)
  • Nice stuff. The drums do sound nice. I heard BFD is another good option for VST/MIDI type drumming. Although I would much rather hear the real thing :D , you did a nice job putting that together and the drums sound as close to the real thing as you can get w/ VST/MIDI.
  • Cool tune...
Great guitar playn' and you're right..
Those drums do sound crisp and clear... 8)

    See Ya,

  • Just a quick newb question about EZDrummer. Does this program work fine with pro tracks plus? I'm assuming that this is a VST plugin correct? :?
  • Hi Dugraha,

EZDrummer is a VST plugin and works great in SonarXL which has its own VST wrapper. I don’t know if Pro Tracks is supported or not? I think there is a listing of supported applications on there web site…here is the link http://www.ezdrummer.com/prodinfo_ezd.asp
    :)
  • Hi Kirk, Thanks for the reply I dont believe that PTP per se is supporetd I dont think that PTP has a vst wrapper (Heard this before but really not sure what it is). Anyways guess its time to upgrade to sonar5!
