  • Hey Partch, good song it had a nice vibe to it. Your mix was off but dont sweat it, that comes with trial and error, and time. I couldn't hear your voice very well at all, could be my comp speakers. It sounded like the electric guitar was overpowering the mix. Anyways please dont take this as criticism at all, I'm definately learning as I go as well! Love the praiae and worship music we need more of that on here, it's a nice departure from the usual. Keep up the good work :D

Hey thanks for the feedback!! I agree as well. I think the Electric guitars are overpowering, and my voice is to low. Especially after MP3 converting I thought I had a pretty good mix and then when I listen to the MP3 things are kind of different. Thanks again!! I will definetly keep stuff comming including praise & worship stuff as I want to get better in this area of music as well.
    God Bless!!!

  • Hey Partch.

Nice sound...really. I can't hear any vocals @ all? It's nice to hear an electric guitar on a worship song. Psalms says make a joyful noise and although not everyone thinks a screaming guitar is joyful, I sure enjoy it and I am sure that God has a soft spot for it too.
  • Thanks Mercy!!! Next go will be better mix. Vocals will definetly be heard!! This may or may not be a good thing. LOL Anyhow I love to sing and it comes from my heart, so in God's eyes this is good & acceptable!!

    God Bless!!!

  • Thats cool, why arent all church songs as cool as that?

last time i was in a church the music was either coming thu a PA from a cd player or an elderly woman on the pipe organ.

It wasnt cool like urs, i mean ELECTRIC GUITARS IN CHURCH, AWESOME
  • Wickerman,
Hey thanks!! I know the mix was not that great!! But I like the Distorted guitar in that song as well. Yeah there still is alot of Traditional type services out there, but most growing Churches that realy want to reach out & minister to people and see lives changed for Jesus Christ are offering some form of modern Worship. We started are Modern Service almost 4 years ago now. I've been playing Electric right from the start till now. We have had alot of rough waters over these changes but leadership has stayed the course. Many have left the church to go to other churches that arn't compromising like this(at least thats there opinion) But we also have seen much growth and new faces all the time. Glory to God!!! He is using us greatly and its an honor and a priviledge to play for the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!! Anyhow I just don't know how a church can be revelent to youth, the future as well as many middle age adults who don't have church background without doing things in a none traditional, non relegious Pius Holier than thou type of way?? I'm glad I'm on the cutting edge of modern worship!!
    God Bless!!!

  • Partch you and ur church sound very cool 8) I grew up in a church that I believe cared more about how you looked or dressed than about your soul. In those days I listened to Petra, Whiteheart, Whitecross, Guardian, etc. I can't tell you how much I was ridiculed by church people for listening to that. I always told them I would rather listen to this than the funeral home music or even worse the southern gospel music I heard every service. So yeah, definately keep up the good work if church doesn't remain relevent to youth then the church will suffer in the future.
  • partch,
nicely done---we do this song too. I look forward to the remix with upfront vocals. I think it was said in other threads --everyones voice sounds funny to themselves but you get used to it. Maybe try not to break into falseta in parts :) Also crank the bass.

After becoming a christian I was unhappy with christian music until I found petra, whitecross and others.like dugraha said that music was looked down upon and to have a rock guitar in church--unheard of BUT things change. The first worship band I played with didn't like the Idea of a rock style guitar UNTIL THEY HEARD IT!! Then I got the blessing from the pastor and worship leader. Now if I'm sick or something people tell me how the sound was so empty

all music has it's place--but too much of any style sucks --especially if the style we love is condemned

    keep it up partch--writing,
    recording ,mixing,----psalm33.3 play skillfully
I'm happy to say that we finally have a bass player .Now I don't have hang in the low end if I don't want to. PRAISE GOD
  • Partch...
Cool tune and concept. 8) ..
    Like eveyone else said..
    Crank up the vocals... :lol::lol::lol:
  • Hey there partch.

Well done. Sounds just like a tune the worship team does at my church.
    Glad you stuck with it.

  • A ouple of other albums with good guitar are \"Israel and New Breed - Live from S. Africa\" and \"Fred Hammond's\" Latest. They don't have the screaming axe in them but the fills are very nice.
