How do u guys use your GNX with your amps channels....
I was wondering how u guys are using your Gnx's with your amps.I have two channels on my amp. What i do is put the amp on the clean channel then the distortion comes from the GNX.I use it in bank mode to switch from CLEAN/CRUNCH/LEAD and i have 4 & 5 setup with effects already switched on....
So do u guys use the GNX'S channels so u can use the effects e.t.c u just keep the amp on clean or do u use the Amp channels but then u cant really use the gnx JUST for effects as it makes a horrible noise when u go direct.

Playing Worship Music at Church probably requires a lot less in the way of setup, than doing alot of covors and stuff like that. I use the GNX in Stompbox Mode: Green Clean, With either Tube Screamer, or Sparkle Drive Stompbox. Red a little Hevier Distortion just to give more umph to some song's we do at Church. I have no need for Volume and Wah Realy so I set the EXP Pedal for detune, Default Settings, and put it to toe up active. This alows me to use an otherwise un used pedal to give me a litle more variance in tone from song to song or for Solo etc.. I know use a Crate Power Block, I go in the Front of the Block right out of 1/4 inch out GNX, I drive Kustom KPC12 Monitor with Emminence Mod 12 Installed. Sounds very good!!! I get in the House System from the back of The Power Block, rather than the GNX XLR Balanced. I've got lots of comments on how much better my tone is this way, VRS's the GNX XLR's!! I think they have some kind of conditioning they do to the Siginal that comes out of the Block?? I don't know but it Rocks!!! My sound at Church is pretty wide spread Nothing real Heavy, but other than that I try to bring it with lots of different tones!! Put it this way?? I seldom use the same patch week to week. I use the same kind of setups, levels to all my patches but like to always be trying new ones out!!
God Bless All!!!

i've got a hughes and kettner tour reverb 100watt amp which, i have to say, has by itself a great tone. the clean channel is very crisp even at very high levels. i wandered that maybe i should use the amp more than the gnx, after all, this would give me the most 'real' amp sounds.
gnerally though i believe it is recommended to play the gnx through the cleanest channel possible and use the gnx for its sounds. i've heard that some people play through a keyboard amp as it is the cleanest tone possible, ie no colourisation. the thinking being that if you have a fender amp sim playing through a marshall stack you're getting a kinda of hybrid fender-marshall sound.
i plug my gnx into the front of the amp as i find it gives a nicer, fuller bodied sound. going in through the effects return is maybe too clean for me and has no real warmth. i guess this is a personal thing. how many of you guys go through the effect loop?
anyway, i set up two channels on the gnx1. the red channel usually a little more distorted than the green, connect the expression pedal to switch between the two amps. i've just got hold of a 'bad monkey' so started experimenting again with sounds and the different channels on the amp. i'm happier at the moment with the same set up, that is: gnx set up for two channels (red and green) with the bad monkey in front of the gnx for lead boost. the amp stays on clean channel throughout.
would be interested in hearing from anyone else though about how much they use their amp channels though...
Considering that some people do not have such facilities on their amplifiers, the recommendation is to use a low-gain clean channel, in fact minimal gain - get a decent clean sound out of the GNX and adjust the 1/4\" output level so that you don't distort the amp. This setup assumes that your patch levels are more or less balanced from one to the next. Although it seems logical to use the amp's EQ on \"neutral\" settings, another idea is to play a CD through it and set the EQ so that the CD sounds as it should - that assumes you know what the CD should sound like.
Another option is to get a clean power amp and run GNX to it; from there, directly to the speaker cabinets not using your amp at all.
I like the idea of the power amp, so i could use like a Marshall El power amp?
SO...
put the gnx in stompbox mode on a clean channel.Than u have access to a choice of using the 5 footswitches.
Then to change from a clean to dirty tone use the AMP channel.
for example if u were using the amps lead channel and wanted chorus u would just press footswitch 3.
BUT i am not sure if turning the amp to a dirty channel would affect the overall tone as the GNX is on a clean channel and u can still play on a clean with lots of disto but its muffled.
