  • Great job, guys! Keep it up! I don't have a YouTube account, so I can't rate it, but you should get many high ratings.

A few things, and these aren't criticisms or complaints - just ideas (and you probably already know them).

    1. Get a bass player
    2. Get a singer
    3. Start writing your own stuff.

You guys are so much better than I was when I was 13...
  • I've had a good time watching that clip! Really nice!

What's the drum he's playing on?
  • great job... I was watching a group that is about 3 times your age, playing that same song on YouTube that weren't 1/3 as good as you are!

i know the make is roland and i think the model is tdk.
  • Holy Cow :!: :!:
That was great! 13, 13 and 8?? You guys have a very bright future ahead of you if keep it up. When I was 13 (you know, back before they invented dirt) I certainly wasn't playing solo's like that! Excellent 8) Not to mention that I've played with some adult drummers who didn't have as good timing :D
  • Pretty darn good.
I must say that the drummer shines for his age.

A suggestion with solos - though it is good to learn solos note for note to see what they are playing, it is also very important to develop your own style and improvise, though your technique is great.
  • thanks for all the replys and suggestions.
we are currently advertising for a bassist but you don't get many steve harris/cliff burtons at age 13 and definately not at 8 so we just gotta wait, hopefully not to long. Then maybe well get a singer. Also when we get bassist full trooper song coming soon.

    keep checkin' and keep shredin'
    cheers
  • I played with a guy in high school who was probably about as good as you when he was your age. Everything was great for him, kept getting better, got into GIT (Hollywood) for his undergrad....

2 years later, hand injury due to incorrect practicing. Been four years since he's been able to hold a guitar. Brings a tear to my eye, really.

Keep practicing and make sure you guys don't hurt yourselves.

If you can't find a Steve Harris (and it's unlikely you will in your age group), don't be afraid to get a more \"normally skilled\" player and push him along. He might be up to snuff in a year and thankful for you lot. Or he might resist practicing - but you can always replace him if that becomes the case.

As for singers, just get one who's not a jerk, loudmouth (when not singing) or idiot. And make him join the choir.
  • The most important thing with a bass player is timing, not necessarily playing excessively fast (Harris).
Although Steve 'arris started playin when 'e was sixteen, 'e went tourin' when 'e was nineteen. With maiden of course. An interesting thing is that the blokes in maiden havnet really (individual skill wise) improved all that much, which goes to show that you need to push yourself in order to get better.

Above all, you guys are in it for fun, not to make money (yet). So get a bass player and singer who you get along with.

Also one thing with the singer, around the early teens, things happen to your voice.... makes things very difficult

I wouldn't have too high expectations when it comes to singers at your age. I'd keep it instrumental and write your own material.

Also its great that you are lefthanded - will look sweet and symmetrical on stage.
  • This is awesome ! great playing and synco.. hard to do at your age for most players. They all seem committed to practice which will make you very solid as players.

lol i know about the voice thing,it already happened to me i remember when i tried to shout, my voice went real high then back to normal, but now im sorted.

the age limit is up to 15 for being in the band

I agree about it looking symmetrical on stage but being left handed its a f***** pain when it comes to buying and playing guitars. For example the Ibanez jems only come right handed apart from the jem555 which i think isnt a jem just a very very cheap version and the trems is shit n the frets arent scalloped above the 12th fret.
  • That was  wicked  dude, keep up the great work.Get a bass player and practice practice practice.Use cover tunes to get tight and develope your own style.Keep Rock'in P.G.
