which pedal do you have? the GNX3000 has a Tube screamer model in its stombox section = there is a pure Tube screamer preset in the factory presets that you can put in front of your amp.

The GNX4 has a tube screamer stompbox sim in it. i think its called \"SCREAMER\".
Ok, got it. Is there any way to use the stompbox features in a bypass mode or do I have to create a preset? I want something that primarily my own amp with the Screamer in the chain. Help?
think you'd need top do it the way the 3000 is setup - ie create a preset with no amp or cab and just assign the stomboxe and /or modulation effects you want to the pedals.

Ok, that's what I figured. I guess I can handle that. I went and bought a TS808 Tube Screamer this afternoon. If I can create the same or similar sound with the gnx, I've got 30 days to bring it back to Guitar Center.
cool, j.m.22. Post your results on that comparison, ive been curious how close that model is to the actual stompbox. Never had the chance to compare them though I use it constantly.
Seems ive gotten to the point where i keep going back to a combination of the screamer stomp, the clean tube head, and 4x10 cab. Love it, looking for an amp with a similar sound.

Will let you know.
Pretty cool that Guitar Center's return policy provides a free opportunity to see what works and what doesn't.
i have a ts i bought back in 98 or so. the gnx patch sounds close enough that i can't tell them apart.
my fave stompbox would have to be the muff pi and the sparkle drive. ips -12 + muff = the sound of god farting. uber bass patch from hell.
I set up a model that's all direct and then added in the Screamer stompbox. I don't have a ts to compare it, too, but it is different than the 808. The 808 is a fuller sound with less edge and bite. I like them both.
Even when you go \"direct\" through the 3000, I think it still samples the Guitar signal so you still may need to make Amp adjustments between the 2 setups you do...
