Dual core CPU's and audio editing and recording
Hi all,
I am in the process of upgrading my PC. I have been researching into dual core CPUs.
Has anyone had any experience with them in the field of audio editing and/or recording? Do they have any real advantages over single core in this field?
Thanks.

A dual core is much faster! Others have gone with AMD64 with varied results if you search the web. Most dual core users have no issues that I have heard of. But again, it depends on the user, your PC hardware and setup, back running progs, etc.
I use Adobe Audition 1.5 - is that multithreaded?
Thanks
In any case you will still benefit, as the OS can do other simulataneous things while you use Adobe Audition. In other words, it really helps (wether your app is multithreaded or not) if you multitask.
BTW, which processor and motherboards are you looking at....
I'm thinking of upgrading as well...
Apparently the 930 is a great chip to overclock and the people that wrote the article managed to overclock it to 4.1 gHz with the stock heatsink and fan!!
Thats the article - has multiple pages.
The reason i a have a preference for Intel at the moment is that they look like they are sticking with their 775 socket, whereas AMD are changing to the M2.
