  • If I understood correctly, you're looking for a coaxial to digital adapter? In other words, if the audigy takes a lightpipe-style digital input, you'll want to convert from the GNX RCA-style coax to the optical.

You're looking at something like this:

I got a less appealing one for considerably cheaper at RadioShack (both the RCA cable and the lightpipe cable cost about twice as much) that came with a power adapter and selectable conversion (i.e., either coax->optical or optical->coax).
  • i think it the soft ware.spdif input wont do any thing i,ve a rca to spdif in on sound card and get humm put no sound .went in setting on gnx3 to dig out and still nothing.
  • Sounds like a setting with the soundcard drivers. Is there any place where it allows you to select bit rate, frequency rate, or any such? Good place to look is either in control panel (some audio interfaces install a separate control panel) or some kind of a control panel that either boots up when you start your computer, or is located in the Start menu under the soundcard's manufacturer's folder.
  • it has enable bit rate acourate recourding(spfif in unknown or invaild signal then lower box has enable bit acourate play back.
  • I don't know if this will help, but this is what I did to get it to work:
    1. Right click on the volume control (near clock) and choose \"Open Volume Control\"
    2. Click on the menu item OPTIONS, then PROPERTIES.
    3. Click on the RECORDING radio button.
    4. Make sure there is a click next to SPDIF (not selected by default).
    5. Click OK.
    6. The Recording Control Panel will be displayed.
    7. Select the SPDIF Checkbox as your default recording device.
    8. Click on the PLAYBACK radio button.
    9. Make sure SPDIF is not muted (muted by default).
    10. Click OK.
