<div style="displaynone">fiogf49gjkf0d</div>Carlos Santana has always been one of my favorite guitarists. I love his style of playing and the sound he gets. I found a good quality BT of Europa. Since I suck at editing, I had to play it in one take and live with the mistakes. One of these days I will get better at editing. Let me kow what you guys think. As always, your comments / critique are welcome.

I love the song and your tone ! Carlos is one of my biggest influences !

Just a couple hopefully helpful comments:

More legato on the opening melody. Watch the timing and phrasing. I realize that we all want to put our spin on covers, but in a couple places your phrasing places you either a little behind the beat or in front of it in a way that sounds a little off from the harmony.

Great overall performance... especially for one take !

I'd love to know what patch you used for this and would like you to upload it if possible. Also what setup (guitar, amp, recording software, GNX4 ?) are you using?

Not sure why you would need to edit when you play as smooth as that. I guess each is their own worst critic. Nice job

Dr Mike, I see you point and the point is well taken. I have heard Santana play so many different versions of this song. Some of it is a combination of a few. I had not listened to the original in a long time. I was playing it from memory from when I played it 15 years ago. Obviously my memory of the original is not that good.

I played this on a PRS Custom 24 directly into the GNX4. I played it on the Neck pick-up with the tone starting about mid way, and increased it to about seven later in the song. The software used was Pro tracks . I did add a little more reverb in the final mix.
