Anyway, there is a solution so to speak, but it is not free (and I seriously doubt you will find a freebie that works for this).
In general, if you want to convert wav to midi you will have to get a proggie that allows slicing of your loops. The best proggie for this is Recycle by Propellerhead (check out video demo on www.propellerhead.se).
The software allows you to import your loops and very easily convert them into sliced grooves. Most of it is done automatically with a slider, but you may have to tweak a little manually. In the end you end up with a REX file that can be used in either Reason or StylusRMX. The RMX comes with a SAGE converter that you can use to import REX files into RMX where they can be either be treated as plain loops or you can midi edit the loops (with infite amount of solutions). I have imported thousands of my own loops (converting them all to REX files was quite time consuming but well worth it). Loops that would not work outside a specified BPM range now plays flawlessly at any BPM I set my DAW to And no pitch issues (which is the brilliant thing with slicing the loops). Each slice represents a midi note so to speak and is not stretched or cropped when changing tempo...
This is an extremely versatile way to program drums and get to use the full potential of your loops collection (or ANY wave file for that matter). Another application is recording a guitar riff and convert to REX, import to RMX and go nuts and make some really sick stuff. Try the same with vocal, basslines, ANYTHING. It rocks!!!
Total cost would be in the 350-400 range for the RMX and Recycle, but it is definitely worth it!!!
