Bought some new toys... but how do I hook 'em up??

Hi All,

Ok, I bought a QSC RMX850. so as I was shopping for a furman power conditioner for it, I ended up buying a couple of rack toys as well;

Ok, so the maxcom has a sidechain for each input, and from what I can gather from the BBE manual, it recommends plugging the two EQ channels into the \"sidechain\" inputs of the Maxcom. I'm really not too sure, but I'm using the GNX4 for my tone generation, and I run it to a behringer mixer and out to some 2031a's. (Haven't bought the cabs yet, spent too much on rack toys LOL!! :oops: ) I'm pretty much keeping it in the dungeon studio, and I bought it with hope that I will have more sonic control while recording, because I use this same rig for bass, vox, miking and virtual synths.

I was thinking this way:
GNX4 1/4 strereo outs-->EQ-->Maxcom-->mixer. then I could go back in on the GNX4 1/4 ins to record, and I could run either the monitors or cabinets from the mixer.

The manual says that I should use the sidechain. I don't really understand the sidechain, the manual implies that you need the split the input so it goes into the EQ input AND the Maxcom input!? Does this mean I would need a 1/4 splitters from my GNX4? What about mastering recorded tracks, would I have to reconfigure?

Anyway, any suggestions would be appreciated!

Peace,
Dobb.
